Spent 8 days in Vegas fiddle-farting around with the wife.

No shows, no gambling, no strippers, (looking back, damn, WTF) anyways, we checked out the landscape, got to know the town a bit, and tried a bunch of eating joints.

Of the stand outs, these were the best:

Great service, great food, open 11:am-11:pm. Had a tall Thai chick and another like 4'11 89lbs. So genuinely nice, went there a couple times. The tall one said she saved money to see maroon5? new year's eve.

Very inexpensive place to eat. Good food, nothing fancy, lot of Hawaiians eat here.

Ramen Sora

This place was simple and outstanding.

Run by Japanese, there was a 40gallon pot in the kitchen run by a young looking This guy:

Broth is really rich, flavor is layered and deep, very easy going atmosphere. Nothing like it in Texas, that's for sure. Highly recommended. Very reasonably priced.

Gangnam Grill

This was a grill your own grubb at the table. All wait staff was genuine Korean Gals.

We slept thru New's years and drove out to Zion national park the next morning:

Neat place. Weather was great.

Got seated next to some bodybuilder chick on the flight back to Houston, Lindsay Mulinazzi. She seemed a bit insecure. Talk talk talk, about her. Something about a reality show, blah blah etc. She says she trains people, but if you look her up online there's a bunch of nudie stuff too. Ha ha!!!

All in all a nice trip, for a place known as phony and superficial all the eating joints we went too were quite authentic and genuine.

Helicopter tour over Hoover dam was fun.

Also, why did you even go to vegas if you didn't see any shows or gamble? I feel like that is kind of the whole point. To be honest I hate gambling but shows are nice.

Best kind of Vegas trip. Good job avoiding the typical stuff.

Why only asian?

Utah has some great scenery. I need to get back out that way so I can see it again.

The subject title made me think about what part of the country calls food eats?

I wanted to kinda, but every time I'd see a mobb of people I'd think, eh fuck it, and so we just hung out and ate food.

The Thai girls were really pleasant, and the Ramen shop great. Checking out the tunnel trails around Hoover dam, was nice.

My wife did here first ironman this year, so it was just a break from all the training.

We're old I guess.

Whore watching at the Venetian was fun, the grand lux cafe at 3:am in the morning was good.

Was going to see a model condo at Trump Towers, but its in a shit location. Right across from the Erotic heritage museum!

Anyone going to Vegas to check out the Thai Joint and have a big ass bowl of ramen and a beer at the soup kitchen.

I raced the Vegas to Reno desert race a few years ago, that's mainly why I like Vegas, not so much the gambling or glitz and glam.

It's been so long since I've been to the Hoover dam I can barely remember it. I think I was like 8 when I saw it.

Asian joints on Spring Mountain Road always good. There are some decent Hawaiian grub places that I always enjoy. Personally, I like L&L's BBQ, although I know many others disagree.

Every now and then, there are some good exhibits at the Bellagio.

Red Rock Canyon is also another place that's worth going to instead of the typical casino gambling and strip joints.

Thought about Red Rock, but went to Sand Hollow resivoir in Utah instead.

Man, there was a big ass gash, I mean gorge we drove through on I-15, everyone was hauling ass through there, it was cool.

I like to eat at Red Square in Mandalay bay when I'm there. I was in town last month and ate at Le Cirque, Circo, Stk and a few other places which were all good by NYC standards.

I've found that you'll get good quality food anywhere in Vegas if you're willing to spend $50 a plate or better.

The M and Rio buffet at the best, according to general consensus. Their seafood buffets, specifically.

L&L is okay, nothing worth going out of your way for.
The Thai food here is far superior, as are most of the Korean joints. Not to mention the hundreds of flawless taco shops.

Red Rock is meh. Ice Box Canyon and Pinecreek Trail are the only places I enjoy.

We made it to the M for Breakfast once. The Thai place and Ramen shop were like $8.00 a piece. We determined we couldn't eat enough at the buffets to warrant the price. My Ol lady is an accountant, plus Asian, she studied in school, so I had to listen.

Fuck I miss the Ramen Shop already. You Las Vegans should give those two places a try.

I know that feel

That would be the cool story, but in reality we came in on the red-eye. After that we were in bed by 9pm every night. A year's worth of ironman training ruins nightlife timeclock.
