Khabib's old man says no one can help Conor improve wrestling in time for UFC 229

Dude, Fuckin' Al Iaquinta was stuffing take downs.

Al Iaquinta comes from a fucking wrestling background. Conor comes from Ireland where they have shit wrestling, enough said.

And Al is?

Yes AI does, beat Kevin Lee, when Lee was green but stuffed several takedowns from Lee as well who is considered a elite mma wrestler at lightweight. Al has showed great wrestling throughout his career even more so when he was on the ultimate fighter. Conor actually has a good ground game but wrestling not so much. He swept Nate Diaz off his back in the first fight, passed Brandao guard like nothing when they fought, even controlled max Holloway on the ground for 3 rounds when max was young. And not to mention is a bjj brown belt. But when you can’t get a take down on Nate Diaz, even got taken down by him in the second fight, and got wrestle filucked by Chad before he gassed, also most fights Conor has been untested in the wrestling department.

As for the winner of this fight 50/50 if Khabib fights wreckless with chin up in air he very well could get knocked out. But if he closes the distance his father is right, Khabib is light years ahead of Conor if he gets his hands on him. That’s just the truth.

That left is overrated and might have worked on 145 pound midgets.

Didn't work very well on journeyman Nate Diaz, did it.

To be fair no one has stopped Nate with left or right hand. And no has done to Khabib either. Will be interesting.

Agreed but I'd still say late round mac is more dangerous than late round iaquinta

Late round Al has the cardio but not the skills and late round Mac has the skills but not the cardio. Same difference to me .

While Conor was playing touch butt, Khabib was putting in work. Once its on the ground Conor's a fish.

Putting in what work?? He was injured o the couch while Conor was doing touch butt

To be fair, almost no one has been able to KO Diaz, so not like he is some journeyman who regularly gets KOd all the time and Mac couldn't do it.

Diaz has been handled much more effectively by pretty much every other elite level opponent that he's faced.

Ben Henderson was able to execute the leg kick gameplan that Conor used in the rematch and totally embarrassed Nate in their fight. That was the only decisive win that Bendo had at the championship level in the UFC.

Hard working guys who are tough and bring it are the kind of fighters that fill Bellator cards or any other second tier mma promotions, or fighting in the early prelims of UFC.
Above journeymen you have gatekeepers, who are the ones you beat in order to be considerd a top contender, who are the ones you beat in order to get a tittle shot, and finally there is the champion.

Not only Nate Diaz has actually fought for the tittle, but he has been unanimously ranked around top ten for many years. A journeyman doesnt win 13 fights in UFC, gets cut before that, unless he is severely protected, which obviously is not the case.

To think that a journeyman would get to fight twice the p4p nº1 star in the sport in Conor Mcgregor, the guy who everyone wants to fight, is fukin stupid by itself. Not only that, the "journeyman" actually finished him lol, and arguably beat him again in the rematch.

It can be argued if Nate is a top contender anymore or has finally been relegated to gatekeeper status. For now he is fighting top 3 Dustin Poirier in the main event of a UFC PPV.
lol a journeyman, it's ridiculous. Same for Bisping by the way
You will see how Conor fans respect Nate, yet it's Nate fanboys like the above who can never show Conor that same respect. A shame.

Let's not get carried away with non sense now

There was nothing arguable about the rematch. No one in their right mind had Nate winning that fight.

It was pretty unanimous across-the-board that Conor had won..Not one single media outlet had Nate winning

Let's not also ignore the massive size disadvantages Conor overcame

Conor's win over Nate is one of the most UNDER rated wins in MMA.

A career FW out boxing a giant sized LW with a granite chin who had tons of WW experience who had never been outboxed before, two weight classes above where Conor had been competing at for most of his career. Erased the loss just 5 months later too.

Where was conor the past 2 years while everyone called him out?

If you follow his instagram, staying in shape and working on his skill set...

Everyone is calling him out because they want that $$$, even Khabib for all his BS refused to fight without getting more $$$

Khabib took his belt while he posted pictures talking about fighting. GTFO with that garbage.

Lol u mean he was handed a belt while Conor and the UFC were in contract negotiations because the UFC couldn't afford Conor.

All Mcgregor needs to train is TDD that's it and well getting back up when taken down. His striking is already above Khabib completely just the same as Khabibs grappling is way above Mcgregors. I think overall fight IQ in the octagon goes to Mcgregor though.

They are both natural lightweights it's just that Conor kills himself in order to fight midgets , and Conor avenged that loss by winning a majority decision , not by destruction.

“I think Conor understands that he wasn’t the real champion at 155,” Abdulmanap said. “He only fought against two lightweights and one of them choked him out. When he took the belt, there were about six lightweights who were stronger than him.

“There are a lot of fighters who deserve a title shot more than Conor. For example, Poirier. He can keep a high pace, he tries to finish opponents. Poirier is the real contender.”

“Let’s put together the best wrestling coaches from Dagestan, Japan, USA, Turkey . . . even they will not be able to prepare McGregor for this fight in three months,” Abdulmanap said. “No one can help him. You can’t do that in such a short time. He needs to start studying it from the beginning. To improve his wrestling in several months, it’s impossible."

“Only a referee can protect Conor, that’s why he will be in the cage.”

Khabib's dad foresees a complete demolition of Conor.

I wanna see Conor fight Khabib’s dad.

Stop

If Conor is a natural LW. Nate is a natural WW

Nate killed himself even worse to make 155 and actually even did MISS weight at 155 multiple times.

While Conor NEVER missed weight at 155.

Exactly !

Under no reality is that ^ the "same size"

Haters simply refuse to give Conor any credit for out CLASSING the much larger man, and it's sad. 3 knockdowns don't lie

This is such an insanely disingenuous biased post

Over 70% of the Nate Benson fight took place on the ground. Benson relied on controlling Nate from the top and wearing him out on top

Conor won a 99% stand up boxing fight over Nate which no one had ever done before (even Thompson utilised wrestling and stood away from exchanging punches with Nate. He relied purely on head kicks)

Also Benson beat a weight drained Nate who had severe trouble making 155 for that fight

Where as Conor outboxed and knocked down a fully replenished Nate at his most strongest

Here's a FACT for you to choke on. NO one had ever dropped WW Nate at WW before.

Yet Conor the career FW dropped WW Nate 3 times at WW. Conor is the Only fighter in history to ever drop Nate at WW

I love how Conor fans mock Iaquinta as if his tdd and wrestling is not leagues better.

They are in for a rude awakening.

White belt. What was your previous banned account? Will you man up and give Conor his credit if/when he makes it look easy against Khabib?

Iaquinta is no where near Conor in footwork and TDD, and I bet Conor would outgrapple Iaquinta too. THE only thing Iaquinta probably has is offensive takedowns and thats it...but that's irrelevant vs Khabib. Conor has superb defensive wrestling

Iaquinta is nowhere near Conor's TDD?
<45>

Conor fans are absolutely delusional. Bunch of know nothing casuals.

Seriously, in what combat sport is a guy with double digit losses anything other than a jobber?

Sugar Ray Robinson had double digit losses (19). Archie Moore had 23, Ezzard Charles had 25. Jake LaMotta lost 19, James Toney is at 10, RJ jr is close with 9. Pacquaio is at 7 and could well get to 10 before he is done. They are all considered legends. If you fight long enough against the best, you are going to have losses.
