I get your point, but if one fighter can do it, then you can't say anything to another. If there were uniform rules and the ufc wasn't setup to only make money then we wouldn't have many of these issues

But when ufc gives Conor a title shot, after 2 year absence and an arrest for injuring people and destroying private property, (jumping over other fighters who deserve a shot) then any semblance of decorum and what fighters can't and can do, go out the window.

if khabib ever fought floyd in a boxing match, it would make the ufc and mma look terrible..cause khabib would get absolutely destroyed something awful...if you think conor got wiped out, this would be far worse...remember, khabib can't grapple or takedown floyd..and without that, his boxing is terrible...this would be a total slaughter of epic proportions..and it would make the ufc look like a bunch of amateurs...at least conor did respectable..while he never once had floyd in trouble, he still did decent...but khabib would get beyond destroyed...it would be target practice for floyd.

Guy has already made history and he's retired for good reasons. He just wants to make easy money and has earnt all the rights to do so. Let's add the fact that fighting ufc guys is a very smart way to stay relevant at this stage of his career.. And as he's already said he sees himself promoting MMA in near the near future. So all this makes perfect sense.

khabib is a great mma fighter...but he is great, cause of his grappling skills and relentless pressure...but as far as his boxing skills go...he has very amateurish boxing...he would most likely lose to mid tier guys in a pure boxing match...going against a pure boxer like floyd, would be a mismatch of epic proportions..

that boxing-only fans do not specifically know who Khabib is may matter less than we may first think...because the marketing for a Floyd-Khabib fight could still largely piggyback off of Conor.

think of the endless loops of Khabib all but dropping Conor, smashing him, and tapping him...and the promotion of Khabib as undefeated, never giving up, which were topics that Floyd primarily used against the not-undefeated Conor in their lead up.

it's admittedly a reach, and there is no doubt that Floyd-Khabib doesn't do anything close to what Floyd-Conor did...but it also doesn't need to. as long as it could do whatever everyone involved deems to be 'enough', then it could happen.

does Floyd need 250+ million or whatever he earned off Conor to make it worth his while? or does 50+ still do it? that same year, he allegedly earned 10mil off endorsements and appearances (acc. to Forbes), so even "only" a 50mil pay day would be significant.

Manny might be relatively 'shot' as a fighter, compared to his glory days...but he's sure a fuck more dangerous than Khabib in a boxing match. 50 mil to school Khabib vs. double or triple to deal with (and maybe get beat by) Manny? hmmmmmm...
