Per Chris Leben, every night before his fights Karo would be downstairs in the casino ripping cigs and playing poker. Might have something to do with him being a killer in the gym with tons of talent but unable to pull the trigger in fights...

Can't remember if it was benzos or pain killers.....maybe both. I do know that he had a panic disorder that he wasn't really addressing. Probably trying to self-medicate.

IIRC he tore his hamstring and got addicted to painkillers during the recovery. Then he started in on anti anxiety meds to help deal with that.,. Just went down hill from there.

Shame. All the talent just went to waste.

No it was pain killers. He got hooked on them after tearing his ham string and was never the same physically or mentally

Karo is Armenian they love gambling and cigars, I actually seen him at Commerce Casino playing poker when I used to play there

.anytime you see someone you think is a middle eastern gambling in the casino they are most certainly Armenian, because Muslims are not allowed to gamble and most don't gamble.

Would love to have seen the title fight with Matt Hughes if he hasn't gotten injured.
He had crazy anxiety issues later in his career after the drugs, in later fights he couldn't even keep his mouth guard in his mouth the whole time

That was a fallacy, that he was such a talent. In a lot of ways, he was just the male Rousey. He had talent for a small pool (like Rousey, when WMMA was her and about five other chicks)... but once a new wave of talent came in, suddenly he suddenly got exposed as the ham and egger talent that he is.
