The Moms for Liberty lady denied that those books were banned by them and then Joy just refuted her without giving any proof. They just did a little "No we didn't. Yes you did."
So I don't know WTF to believe.
Then when the lady asked her how come they censor adult content on the internet computers, she completely SIDESTEPPED the question.
She also completely gaslit her when she asked if it's appropriate to have books that shows sexual stuff like dildos and pedophilia to kids. She never directly answered - she went on some dumb ass red herring question if she knew who the main character was. WTF does that have to do with anything?
I swear this must be a psyop by the Republicans to make MSNBC look completely fucking retarded. The vast majority of parents, REGARDLESS of party affiliation, would be against this book.
That's irrelevant.
Or overtly sexual material really doesn’t have a place in school. Knowledge of Dildos are not needed for sex ed, and the definition of anal, oral all sec is enough. They’re not teaching preference or giving out tips. They teach body parts and functions.Lmao. If a 3rd grader and a preteen use the same library and can openly grab said book unsupervised, sit down and read about fucking dildos anal sex pedophilia etc. then yes you have a problem.
Now if older students have access to different books with consent of the parents knowing its available then that becomes less of a problem.
This shouldn't be a hard thing to understand and you only defend it because it gives you an opportunity to rage post to the other side like the petulant child you are.

Rape is the carnal knowledge of an individual, with their own body parts or objects. You don’t have to read them a sex scene describing sex toys. Try again. The unfortunate truth is kids are abused using objects and not just from adults sometimes hazing. If you don’t teach them this is a form of sex and rape you’re not really helping them navigate that.
I see what you mean but also know kids will not give a shit about a text book of cold definitions and probably learn more if some of this information is explained in fiction they actually want to read.
Nobody is reading that to them, because these books are not part of any school curriculum in any district in the country AFAIK. It is simply a book available in the library for readers who choose to read it and are of the appropriate age level.Rape is the carnal knowledge of an individual, with their own body parts or objects. To anyone ITT: which exact book are we talking about? I watched 5-6 mins of the video but it wasn’t readily apparent. Have we actually checked to see if these scenes truly appear as described? Typically I find that Moms forFascismLiberty presents these scenes in a dishonest fashion.

Disagree. In high school, I was reading stuff like William S. Burroughs, JG Ballard, Vonnegut…. All kinds of stuff. Not a big deal. It’s not appropriate for a school library.
There’s a non-profit group called PEN America that tracks what books are banned. PEN America is a group made up of authors, illustrators, book editors, etc.The Moms for Liberty lady denied that those books were banned by them and then Joy just refuted her without giving any proof. I care deeply about the opinions of black women who wear ridiculous blonde wigs.
Dick tuck noted..
Oh, they are. It seems to me that if the real goal here was to “protect the children from porn,” then the most common age level of books banned would be books for children , and the most common reason for banning them would be graphic sexual content—Why stop at themes of sex? Why not remove all mentions and acts of violence from school books and classes? Crime too?
They’re not talking about a high school are they? They were talking about an elementary/middle schoolDisagree. In high school, I was reading stuff like William S. Burroughs, JG Ballard, Vonnegut…. All kinds of stuff. Not a big deal.
That’s not the same thing at all but sure let’s have 8 year olds read American psycho and fight club. Why stop at themes of sex? Why not remove all mentions and acts of violence from school books and classes? Crime too?
