Lmao. If a 3rd grader and a preteen use the same library and can openly grab said book unsupervised, sit down and read about fucking dildos anal sex pedophilia etc. then yes you have a problem.

Now if older students have access to different books with consent of the parents knowing its available then that becomes less of a problem.

Or overtly sexual material really doesn’t have a place in school. Knowledge of Dildos are not needed for sex ed, and the definition of anal, oral all sec is enough. They’re not teaching preference or giving out tips. They teach body parts and functions.

The unfortunate truth is kids are abused using objects and not just from adults sometimes hazing. If you don’t teach them this is a form of sex and rape you’re not really helping them navigate that.

I see what you mean but also know kids will not give a shit about a text book of cold definitions and probably learn more if some of this information is explained in fiction they actually want to read.

Rape is the carnal knowledge of an individual, with their own body parts or objects. You don’t have to read them a sex scene describing sex toys. Try again.

Nobody is reading that to them, because these books are not part of any school curriculum in any district in the country AFAIK. It is simply a book available in the library for readers who choose to read it and are of the appropriate age level.

To anyone ITT: which exact book are we talking about? I watched 5-6 mins of the video but it wasn’t readily apparent. Have we actually checked to see if these scenes truly appear as described? Typically I find that Moms for Fascism Liberty presents these scenes in a dishonest fashion.

When you're pushing an agenda, calling it an "interview" isn't really accurate.

Also, it's frightening that a major TV personality can openly defend the dissemination of sexually explicit (and deviant, at that) material to children, and not get strung up, so to speak.

What does that mean that it doesn't happen? It means that there's a lot of people out there that are just like her, and, yes, they want to come for your children.

There’s a non-profit group called PEN America that tracks what books are banned. PEN America is a group made up of authors, illustrators, book editors, etc.

Oh, they are. It seems to me that if the real goal here was to “protect the children from porn,” then the most common age level of books banned would be books for children , and the most common reason for banning them would be graphic sexual content—
But neither is true.

Adult level and young adult level books are the most commonly banned. Books with an LGBTQ character/theme or books with a character of color/theme of race make up the overwhelming majority of bans. So don’t buy into the bullshit that this “about the children,” it’s not. It’s about alienating minority groups.

Of the banned books dealing with sex, these include informational books about puberty, sex, and relationships. It’s pretty clear what they’re up to.
