He's one of the few fighters that you can pretty much guarantee an exciting fight from.

So basically you hope he doesn't look like he did against OSP?

Guess we'll find out.

old Jones minus the patented 'finger defense', that is. which isn't exactly the 'Ol' Jones'.

maybe we'll see a new and improved Jones that wins w/o the 'finger defense'.

i really look forward to this fight with Cormier. it should answer a lot of outstanding questions.

He's had 4 straight decisions. The old Jones has long been gone. He was young and thought he was invincible during his finishing run. He's 30 now with drug and legal issues and a year layoff. The sport had caught up. It's over.

Who knows...

"Baggage" Jones might end up being more dangerous.

He followed a similar pattern that GSP did.

During their runs to the title, they were finishing most opponents.

Then....

The only people Jones finished after winning the belt were Rampage, and then 3 guys who are better suited at Middleweight (Sonnen, Vitor and Machida).

The only people GSP finished after winning the belt were Hughes and then 2 guys who are better suited at Lightweight (Serra and Penn).

It's funny that GSP gets all the hate about not finishing though, yet Jones is given a pass.

Yeah...who wants to see him put on such a loser performance, like completely dominating a dangerous opponent, breaking his arm in the process and winning by UD?

What can!

There is literal tape of his coaches criticizing his performance. Try again.

With all due respect, GSP didn't finish BJ in their rematch. BJ / his corner quit. It may be semantics, but I think it's relevant to the discussion.

Any decent coaches are heavily critical of their fighters performance. When they aren't what you get is BJ Penn.

Lol what?

You're making it very clear you don't have a clue. They weren't even speaking to Jones when they caught them on tape, it was Jackson and Winklejohn speaking alone. They said it right as the fight ended, specifically stating how they thought his cardio looked shitty because of his weight lifting.

If you want to believe that was a good performance, go for it. You're in a heavy minority that Jones coaches don't even fall within.

He won by UD and broke OSP's arm. If you think that is a bad performance you're a fucking moron :)
