How much do average boxers make?

that's my girl, her new name is "tasty". get away from that psycho in the mercedes.

I don't think there would be any way to get a true average. The closest would probably be taking out the top 5% (guys making 1mil plus and headlining ppv's) and the bottom 5% (fighters going once every week or two in clubs for a hundred or so) and average what's left. Even with that I'm not sure you could get a real accurate guage on it.

Local Boxers around here just do it as a hobby. THey work a normal 9-5 job to pay the bills

Who are some famous boxers that worked a day job even though they didn't have to? A bit off topic I know.

They pay me in giant bags full of gold delivered on top of 24 inch chrome rims.

Other guys just need to step up their game.

Well not every fighter can sell out the 4 Bears Casino.

you start out with a 4 year union apprenticeship, making $15.75 an hour. after that you become a journeyman boxer, at $21.75 an hour.

Charles Brewer was a computer programmer. Uriah Grant was a construction worker. That's not too famous. If you're a top boxer, you have to train full time.

Back in the day, there wasn't enough money for boxers to train full time. Charley Burley worked all day in an airplane parts factory in San Diego, and then drove up to Los Angeles to fight Archie Moore that night because his boss wouldn't let him take the day off work. Joe Louis and Billy Conn were in the Army when they fought.

This is true, you get payed less if you are non-union though. But it is easier to find fights if you are non-union. Just be sure to go through and exit the non-union gate though, or else some shit will hit the fan.

they don't disclose the pay made from ppv, for UFC they could be making a lot from this

hard to say as every promoter uses a different business model for instance frank warren and gbp would use complete different payment systems

my friend is a boxer only 3 pro bouts he only makes 800 a fight but it is only 4 round fights, the guys who fight longer fights get more money but it still isn't much

lol Was that why Toney & Mayorga were boxing untill late into this decade Sprawl?

They could have defected to MMA before then if MMA paid so well.

They went into MMA because they are past their prime & could make more money off guys like Dana White.

No one is gonna pay 1 mill to an out of shape Toney in boxing.

And 12.5k is ok compared to what some of the UFC & WEC prelim guys get paid.

Edit: Kid McCoy should have some numbers instead of rumours.
