Chris Weidman. Lost brutally his last three. Cut him already.

I did make an exception for top name fighters. The guy was the champ three fights ago. None of the ones I listed were ever champ and if they were was way longer than three fights ago.

The UFC always needs a few punching bags and stepping stones. Some of those guys on your list are big names that are just shot and can build up and comers. Some provide entertainment. It's al laquintas own fault he isn't being paid. Fuck em

Who cares what peoples records are? If there are fights for them and people want to see them... Then let them bang!

Just bleed guys should be retained. Good prelim card filler for FS1 cards

Angela Hill 0-3 in UFC.

Word. It seems so petty and mean-spirited to root for fighters to get cut.

No it doesn't, "let go" = being fired. Getting a better job is a voluntary choice by the fighters. People leave jobs for better jobs in this country everyday, we never refer to that as them being let go.

Not when the ufc can match the offer to keep them.

By your logic everyone who has ever left a job for another job that pays better was "let go". Every employer in America can make a better counter offer just because they don't doesn't = being fired.

No just because you say something doesn't make it true, every company can't counter offer. They can make you an offer, but you do not have to take it. The UFC has the right to match and KEEP you with them....

  • Heavyweight is really thin and
  • A lot of those guys ares still under contract. If a lot of them were up for renewal, they'd be either taking a pay cut or just plain getting cut.
  • The UFC needs some guys who have name recognition to be "sacrificial lambs" for up and coming fighters. Is looks better when No-Name Fighter A beats Gray Maynard or BJ Penn irather than of No-Name Fighter B
  • If you're a casual, would you rather watch a card that has a bunch of names you recognize that are semi-washed up, or a bunch of up and coming names you don't recognize?

Well technically that counts as the UFC letting them go... The UFC didn't want to pay them what Bellator would so they let them go to Bellator.

Or Bellator's pay + sponsorship dollars + not dealing with Dana and/or WME = a better situation

UFC is way too hesitant to cut people nowadays and it's resulted them in having a really old, untalented roster. Half the guys in the top 10 in every weight class wouldn't actually be in the top 10 if there were a multi-org grand prix tournament. They're just there because rankings are really biased to the UFC from when they used to have good recruiting.

It used to be no question, if you lost 3 fights in a row you were gone.

True but if the UFC chooses not to match the offer doesn't mean they let a fighter go or fired them. The contract was completed meaning said fighter was no longer employed by the UFC, explain how you let a fighter / employe go that doesn't even work for you.
