Headset troubleshooting

So, I went out and grabbed some A40s with a Mixamp to upgrade from my Turtle Beach's that had the plastic break on me so it won't fit properly or at all anymore.

I updated the firmware on the Mixamp and everything is plugged in properly. The fiber optic cable I can clearly see the red before I plug it into the Mixamp so it isn't like that has a weird kink in it or anything.

But, I'm not getting ANY sound through the headset. ANy ideas?
 
Right mouse click on the speaker in your system tray
go to Playback Devices
find your headset
right click on it
then hit test.
Do you hear a tone?

It's connected to an Xbox.

I figured out the problem and it's honestly pretty embarassing. The wire that runs from my Mixamp to the headset... I plugged it in backwards. There's a mute button on it and the way I had it plugged in (thinking it didn't matter) was with the mute button closer to the mixamp than the headset. I was sitting there frustrated and was like "wait, why is the mute button closer to the amp instead of the end user" flipped the bitch and it started working.
