It is strange to even contemplate this but I actually think Alex has done it.

He is a much more decorated combat athlete winning belts in multiple weight classes in two combat sports.

He has beat Israel 3 times and twice by stoppage.

Izzy knocked out Alex but in that fight Izzy was getting outclassed.

He moved up in weight class and won the belt and then defended the title.

He ko Strickland, the guy that Israel got beat badly by.

Izzy moved up and fought Jan, Jan beat him badly out struck him and almost stopped him with GNP in the 5th. Alex was able to work Jan and beat him convincingly.

Unless Izzy does something spectacular like moving up in weight I do not see him touching the legacy of Alex.

Izzy obviously had a better middleweight career but can you really say his defenses are better than Alex beating both Jan and Strickland whom Izzy couldn't beat and also moving up to capture the LHW belt? Alex is doing everything Adesanya was hoping to do and in spectacular fashion nonetheless

If u gonna mention that Poatan was winning until he lost their last fight ... u should then also mention that Izzy was winning or should have won all 3 of their first 3 fights but lost.

first fight due bad scoring
second fight ref interference giving Poatan a chance to recover (standing 8 count ... Izzy could have easily finished him)
and then getting caught in the fifth while up in all score cards in their 3rd fight / first MMA fight.

Bonus .. Poatan saved by the bell in their first MMA fight. Poatan has had a lucky horse shoe up his arse vs Izzy historically.

Again I agree Poatan has surpassed Izzy based on results and not what ifs ... but be fair how u describe things. You mentioning Poatans "winning until he lost" but not the 3 times the reverse was true shows cear bias in ur post.

He beat the guy at LHW that beat Izzy, then two more champions, not random jobbers. With his win over Hill, Alex has beaten more champions in Hill, Jiri, Jan, Izzy, and Strickland than Khabib did in McGregor, Dustin, Justin, and RDA.
He has 5 good wins because he's fought and beat 5 champions in his last 6 fights with Bruno Silva being his last non-champ opponent lol
