Lately my hamstrings have been very tight. They seem to respond with very little warm up, is there anything else I can do to strengthen them?
A little background, I am 50, very fit, squat & dead lift twice a week, (not very heavy anymore). Do a lot of conditioning work, jiu jitsu... was wondering if sprinting would help.

I wouldn't sprint with tight hammies, although the generic sprinter's warm up is really good for loosening things up.

What is the generic sprinters warm up?
My hamstrings have been sore for about a year. I wonder if my quads are pulling too hard, overtraining, weak hammies..... Any thoughts or suggestions will be considered.

Also, SLD's tend to be good for hammy's.

Sit a lot? New job, yes. I have considered that
What are SLD's?

Stiff legged deadlifts.

They're probably the best aside from glute ham raises imo. Lying hamstring curls are good as well.

Find out why they are tight. Is it neural drive? Mechanical tension? Are the tissues responsible for the movement that you are trying to do weak?
