Media Gunnar Nelson still wants rematch with 'cheating' Ponzinibbio

Pinocchio did a good job of not poking Magny last event

He's 3-3 in his last 6.

Despite being a ground specialist, Maia absolutely handled him, he's not getting the rematch with Ponz right now who's on a 7 fight win streak in the division. You can explain away one loss, but you can't explain away 3.

He's definitely right a 165lbs division is needed and would be most suited for guys his size.

If he keeps growing as a fighter he'll be an important guy in the division with some consistent wins.

Yeah, it sucks when an illegal strike fks with the fight. Eyepokes legitimately happen a lot, and some guys just seem able to shrug them off, others linger - I get why he's mad.

That being said, he should really, really focus on Brasilian Cowboy, because that guy is pretty primed to beat the ever loving shit out of him. I'm hoping he can pull off a slick sub like Cerrone did on him, but in my mind, I see Gunnar playing way too much stand up and getting worn out by his much more physical opponent.

Not a fan if either guy, but at least Ponzi is not incredibly overrated like Gunnar is.

They need to drop Ponzi back 10 rank positions and force him to wear boxing gloves so that he can't win by eyepokes anymore.

Rewarding him for cheating is just lame.

I don't blame him but if I were in his shoes, I'd be at least as disgusted at the poor officiating that allowed Ponzinibio to claim that W.

Ponzinibbio is the dirtiest fighter on the roster, he has eye poked every opponent since Gunnar. He also sounds like a speech impaired retard when he speaks and has the charisma of a damp rag, he's a marketing nightmare. The sooner he gets ko-d and fades into obscurity the better.

Jones does the same and is considered the GOAT by some people, why wouldn't other fighters do the same? <Fedor23>

Gunnar's disdain for extreme weight cutting is admirable but I reckon he could be very successful at LW if he'd change his mind on it, the current champion is probably cutting more than he'd have to cut so he should give it a go, best shot at winning a belt. The money is better at LW too, Khabib is now a bigger draw than Woodley and there would even be the possibility of a fight with old teammate Conor which would be fun.

That's true, I'd love to see him fight there but I completely get why he doesn't. Way healthier long term too.
