What is a good software right now that can help you compose music, something you might be using right now? I used to play guitar but I also like to experiment on drums, violin, and other instruments. I like to experiment with salsa beats as well.

This might sound blasphemous but I'd like to digitally create solos from a laptop keyboard and adjust its tempo or beat.

Thanks.

i've used logic. I heard that is good for computer music.

Fruity Loops is probably the easiest to learn and use as a newbie to software music production. Then there's Reason by propellerheads, which is also user friendly but a bit more advanced. Reason now supports VST plugins and has features for recording/editing live instruments.

Reason is fairly user friendly yet has a lot of features in a simple package.

I played around on garageband for ios. I didn't really like it myself but it seemed like something that someone with zero experience could pick up and create with right off the bat.
