All I see are a bunch of excuses for why people become more conservative (because of "shifting ideas about what Democrats and Republicans are")

LOL! OK. None so blind as those who will not see, I guess. Carry on with your delusions. For people who actually care about getting things right, the info is in the thread (when the data contradict the old wives tales you put your faith in, it's a good idea to go with the data).

It's the circle of life, Simba. People work extremely hard to build a society and then the later generations get fat, weak and lazy living off the blood, sweat and tears of those who came before. Eventually, the good times end and people have to work hard and toughen up in order to fix what the entitled generations ruined.
