Gaethje's leg kicks

P4P Gaethje is the best.

Nowhere near as good as Alex's. Gathje throws everything into his and has to land a heap of them to do damage, and he misses half the time and throws himself out of position anyway.

Alex's aren't even super hard hitting. He just hits them in the exact right spot just at the right time with their footwork. They're absolutely devastating.

There's a big difference between Gahtje landing leg kicks on the sort of comp he faces, and Alex hobbling elite strikers like Izzy and Jan.

My favourite leg kick moment was when Lawler fought Manhoef.
Seeing and hearing them land, then after Robbie knocks him out you see him limping around the octagon as gia leg seizes up to where he can barely walk.

I'd say so. He's a maniac and not afraid to throw caution to the wind shin on shin. Stand up he's crazy but he did tap vs Khabib :(

It was crazy that he still was able to move well after 50 leg kicks landed from Gathje and knocked him out in the 4th

Yeah, gaethje just wasn't kicking high enough in their first go-around.

Pereira for sure, gaethje throws his all into each leg kick, pereira’s low effort sneaky calf kicks immobilizes guys

Poatans calf kicks are surgical. Just deadens dudes nerves almost immediately. But Gaethje wings haymakers with his leg kicks. Straight through the target and out the other side.
Gaethje vs. Barboza was starting out as a battle of leg kicks and pain tolerance...then Gaethje put him to sleep with his fists. Would be interesting to see how the fight turned out if they fought longer. Barboza is probably closer stylistically to Pereira (MT or kickboxing) while Gaethje is a wrestle-boxer who somehow learned to throw hard leg kicks.

Poatan: 0 wins by leg kick TKO
Gaethje: 3 wins by leg kick TKO

Poatan: 0 wins by leg kick TKO
Gaethje: 3 wins by leg kick TKO

Poatan: hobbled Izzy, Jan, and Jiri.

Gathje: finished Brian Foster, Luis Palomino, and Brian Cobb with leg kicks. Only 2 of those even made it to the UFC. One of them never won there, and the other couldn't put 3 wins together. None of these three were able to put 3 wins together even in WSOF, and that's back when WSOF was a fledgling org full of lots of low level guys.

Doing what Alex did with his leg kicks to his quality of opponents is light years beyond Gathje leg kick TKOing cans.

Poatan’s calf kicks look like the ref paused the fight and let someone whack his opponent’s calf with a baton

Pereira seems to have his opponents flailing after fewer but Gaethje must be close….
Not close. Gaethje has blasted many of his opponents' legs dozens of times. If Poatan landed as many, which he doesn't need at all, he'd cripple everyone

Gaethje, Martinez, Volk, Periera, Barboza are the best leg kickers around.

I don't know about hardest, I'm sure Tom Aspinall's leg kick would be harder but relaltive to the division they fight in, The efficaicy of Gaethje's leg kick may be highest in the UFC
Jim Miller gets looked over, Poirier said Miller has the hardest leg kicks and Poirier fought both guys.

Jim Miller had Poirier in a LOT of trouble with leg kicks in their fight.

That was an epic war that probably gets lost in the shuffle and doesn't get properly appreciated for how great of a battle that was.

If you watch Miller kick, it's pretty crazy the leverage he gets on his kicks. Pay attention next time how much he turns into it. But yeah, that was an excellent fight.

Martinez has literally stopped his last 2 opponents with leg kicks - I think him and Alex are the deadliest atm

Gaethes are def good …. Barboza and young aldo were deadly back in the day too and worth the mention

Alex is surgical with leg kicks. Justin throws them with everything he has. Shocked his Shin is intact it should be shattered how he kicks but maybe his Shin is really made of steel

Gaethje and Pereira both have great leg kicks, wouldn't want to take many from them.

Ask Poirier (timestamped at :24)

Dustin actually said it's between Jim and Justin. Jim was more immediate pain even considered slicing his leg open at medicals to relieve the pain but Justin was longer lasting due to injury.
