Frank Mir tapping to strikes

His mouth piece popped out before he tapped to strikes shouldn’t the ref have stopped the fight to let him get the mouth piece back in. That’s why he tapped all his teeth were gonna get knocked out and he pointed to his mouth

The ref shouldn’t do that unless there is really a lull in the action. Javy didn’t let up once the mouth piece came out and if they break up a run to put a mouthpiece in then fighters will just start spitting out their mouth piece once they start getting their ass kicked.

Frank is 0-2 in Bellator now.. Who is left for Frank to fight?
Chael Sonnen is the fight to make.
Was supposed to happen a couple different times under grappling only rules.
Would be fun and Chael would be the only guy who could get seriously hurt in that match up.
Frank by quick tap.

It seems like Mir has just been showing up for a paycheck for almost
5 years.
When was the last time he showed up in good shape and motivated?

Blood in his eyes. Can see. Lost his mouth guard. Tooth punched through cheek. He knows when he’s had enough. Solid 1st round. Surprised the other guy had some decent stamina for round 2

Anyone got a gif? Didn't watch.

Not surprised though. He's too old for that quick of a turnaround after eating those shots from Fedor while on his knees...

It seemed really weird that he would tap to strikes standing but apparently he broke a bone in his mouth or something, which makes it a lot more understandable

It's too bad Bellator doesn't have guys like Eric Prindle, the fat Thiago Santos, Ron Sparks, Mark Holata, or Richard Hale anymore. Frank could easily beat them up still, IMO.

Mir may be nearing the end.

OTOH, though, there were a number of fluky occurrences here:
  • Busted wide open bloody by an elbow that just grazed him
  • Lost mouthpiece
  • Got a vicious injury to the mouth, when he had no guard

Ayala gets a lot of Sherdog disrespect, most likely for his physique. But Roy had a belly and was no joke in his prime.
Ayala isn't that level, but he's no bum, either.

Some regional guys that Scott Coker will pull out of somewhere for his next two fights.

You got me thinking there. Back in the Rebney days there were a few fellas that ol' Frankie boy could've got a win out of.. Eric Pringle, Peter Graham, those kinda guys.

Frank Mir's problem seems to be fighter IQ. Compare it to Cheick Kongo, Cheick Kongo has gotten knocked out by Frank Mir and Mark Hunt and Roy Nelson. What happened to him since those times? He was smart enough to realize it's not a great idea to stand and bang with other heavyweights. So he became more of a grappler in close, he slows the pace tremendously, exposes himself less to the possibility of getting knocked out. And at distance, Cheick Kongo actually uses his kicks to keep range. Frank Mir can actually learn from Cheick Kongo because Frank Mir is a really good grappler and a submission artist on the ground. He needs to swallow that pride crap and just get the wins. Look at what Cheick Kongo did to heavy puncher Matt Mitrione in the UFC and to Alexander Volkov in Bellator. He took them down and beat them up. Frank Mir has the physical tools to do exactly that.

Frank Mir never had any heart. Alwyas been a front runner..This is what he gets for talking more shit about Fedor. I hope he keeps fighting and continues getting KTFO.
No heart? Have you never seen any of his fights? Frank has endured some of the worst beatings in mma. He’s a certified badass. He just didn’t want to lose his teeth.
