Here's what they say (pretty sure their stats are provided by Fight metric):
That's a terrible, terrible list.
Urijah Faber higher than Wanderlei Silva?
Nate Marquardt higher than Shogun Rua?
And where is Kazushi Sakuraba and Mirko Crocop?
And how can Rashad Evans be higher than Jon Jones?
What a horrendous pile of fail.
1.Fedor Emelianenko
2.Anderson Silva
3.Georges St Pierre
4.Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
5.Dan Henderson
6.BJ Penn
7.Matt Hughes
8.Kazushi Sakuraba
9.Wanderlei Silva
10.Mauricio Shogun Rua
11.Rampage Jackson
12.Chuck Liddell
13.Randy Couture
14.Mirko Crocop
Thanks, do they not release their algorithm? They just tell you what they kinda considered? Can you send me the link where you found this?
Jon Jones should be higher. I don't care if he's only been around a little while, he's destroyed top level opponents.
IDK what their algorithm is, but my assumption is that it takes into account dominance, strenght of opposition, technique stats (IE: average takedowns landed per round), consistency, multidivisional success etc...
The explanation I wrote (the long one) was directly off of the Fightmatrix website

Sean Sherk: 4 losses, all on this list. That's respectable.
