Mixed martial arts isn’t a team sport, and the fighters’ actions as it pertains to pay and unionization reflect as much. Without a sense of unity, where the good of the whole is held in higher regard than that of the individual, the athletes who compete in the sport will never get their due, nor will they ever be properly compensated. The reason MMA hasn’t benefited the fighters is because of the fighters.

You get into MMA for the passion and love of martial arts. If you get into it with the mindset of being a millionaire, your fucking up. Remmember. "Follow your passions, and the money will come".

True, most human beings want to feel included and live vicariously through successful figures and be in a sense involved and united.

Conor established that rapport with his fellow countrymen.

While Diaz bros fans are a mix of false vegans and wanna be gangbangers that are stuck in the early to mid-2000 gangsta rap era teen culture.

Or fighters should get a good KO, or put on a good fight to get a bonus<seedat>

Hahahahahaha

Maybe the UFC should stop hating on a brother for beating their handpicked white bois and taking his fights into later rounds using strategery. Pay the man what he is worth. Might as well change things to UCC: Ultimate Caucasian Championship.

it has nothing to do with unionizing

it has everything to do with quantity of fighters. UFC really isn't desperate to get lightweights or welterweights, since there are such a high number of men looking to fight at that weight class.

There's a reason heavyweights get paid way more than other weight classes, on average.

It's because of supply and demand.

Nah. One doesn't preclude you from the other. You're being naive.

Yes. I've been saying this for some time. It's really hard to coalesce and be on a united front when the industry you're involved in thrives off of violent conflict.

"Follow your passions, and the money will come".

The vast majority of the time, this simply isn't true. I think a better maxim would be, "Do something valuable with your time and money will come."

"Follow your passions, and the money will come".

Only if you demand your worth and unionize with your coworkers to the point you can't be ignored and replaced.

Greed amoungst the stars keeps the wages down for everyone. They feel like they've put in too many hard years to help the newbies have an easier life.
