Now that you mention it, this is the first time in his entire career that he's lost consecutive fights. Granted, that wouldn't be the case if he was rightfully prevented from taking the fight against Gastelum, but this is the only time he's experienced a losing streak/slump of any kind. Seems right on schedule too since he's been contemplating retirement for about a year as well.

Well, nothing he's saying is actually wrong. He went from a great 2016 to a bad 2017.

He was old, then got older while hanging onto the belt ducking true contenders. Then 2 WW's exposed is age.

Bisping was always a decent contender and won a lot of fights in the UFC, but when he got the belt he tried to ride the wave because he knew he would lose it if he actually had to defend it against a Romero, Jacare, Weidman type fighter.
