Eating junk food as a fighter?

    Currently training pure Boxing and having a sorta amatuer fight next month( more of an exhibition) for 3, rounds of only 1 minute. Anyway. I'm 165 pounds at 6 feet. Pretty thin lean guy and have always been. My weight goes up and down between 155 and 170. I never have been fat my whole life. Question is does anyone else eat junk food and train? I eat pizza, burgers, Chinese buns( live in Chinatown). I gain little to no weight and don't really feel any different in training then when I eat healthy. I don't eat it everyday. Should I avoid it altogether?

    Train hard enough and you can eat more or less anything you want

    Its fine, to be honest it depends on how you handle it, and as you mentioned you feel little to no difference so its fine. Don;t tell your coaches though, alot of coaches are old fashioned and think 1 dimensional, esp. when it comes to dieting.

    I myself eat quite flexible as well and keep it within my caloric limit and macro-nutrients. I do tend to eat cleaner these days, limiting "junk" to the weekends, but overall the difference is minimal.

    I will say though, quitting drinking has helped out my system quite a bit, despite counting it correctly before and not having an increase in fat and weight, alcohol was the only thing that really affected my performance; Not to say at a large margin, but still was a deficit to my performance.

    Nothing wrong with junk food in you can perform. Health in the long run might be a different story. It's all about context.

    Please dont listen to this.. Because eating junk food will kill your cardio game. Sure eat here and there slice of pizza after training,maybe two,but eating junk food is a big no. Rather than that,be sure to get good carbs after heavy workouts/trainings.

    Right... don't listen to Frodo. Listen to the fat guy and get on that "zero calorie" snack food diet.

    Yeah Frode only eats the grass fed outdoor reared hot dogs, ethically rased on green pasture land, no hot dog is removed from its mother until it's at least 28 days old.......

    Energy levels tend to be higher the healthier you are.
    Having amazing cardio can offset it, but why not both

    Follow the Thai method......smoke, drink......... gamble, womanize and eat crap.........but make sure you train 6 days a week and your be fine.....
