Mexican Yair Rodriguez has sustained an injury and therefore can not fight on 8 September 2018 during UFC 228 in Dallas, Texas against the Dagestani Zabit Magomedsharipov. This was reported by Tarso Doria via MMA Brasil a few moments ago. The fight was planned as PPV opener in the Featherweight division. The UFC is looking for a fighter in the Featherweight division that can replace Yair Rodriguez.

Yair Rodriguez was last in action during UFC 211 in May 2017 against Frankie Edgar. Rodriguez lost for the first time in his UFC career via TKO. Rodriguez last win dates from January 2017 when he defeated TKO BJ Penn. Zabit Magomedsharipov is working on a strong run in the UFC. The Dagestani has won all three fights so far. Magomedsharipov took three bonuses in three fights.
