Chrisitan Bale's Western Drama HOSTILES (First Trailer Released)

Looks real good. Bale is a boss in the right role. 3:10 to Yuma is one of the best modern Western films out there. Hell, just one of the best Westerns I've seen period and I've seen many.

lol 310 to yuma is the die hard of westerns. It has so much fake shit in that film i could hardly stomach it

Great movie with really unlikable characters that change throughout the movie. Really shows the hatred towards both side of the Native and White people battles back in the day.

Expect a lot of slow scenes and loooonnnng transitions between them. They really take advantage of a western's ability to have a slow moving movie. Works anyway,

Man, that scene was a total gut punch. The scene with Lang, Bale and the other dude when they are telling him he has to take the Chief back to Montana to die was another scene with some raw ass acting. So much restraint and tension in that scene.

Another great moment is when Bale's bearded friend pretty much breaks down and tells him that he can't do it anymore, and he's just getting drenched while standing in the rain. Bale tells him to get back into the tent and the guy is like I don't feel nothing anymore. I really, really loved the film.

Yes i remember all those scenes vividly because the acting was so great. Bale really nailed, i felt like his character was always trying to contain the fire inside himself. From all the stories you heard about him there was a time when he was not retraining himself.

Definitely don't expect a "fun" Western in the vein of Tombstone or the Magnificent Seven remake. This is a raw, often brutal movie that puts the harshness of frontier life on full display. It's a movie where rugged and dangerous people venture across an equally rugged and dangerous landscape.

I'd probably give it an 8/10. Quite possibly not a movie that I'll ever watch again, because it does kind of qualify as a "hard watch," but I do recommend it to any fan of Westerns.

Ya like i said it was about loss. Its a great movie though. It hit me more profoundly after i thought about everything. I really enjoyed the ending. I think if they didnt end they way they did i wouldnt of liked it as much.

I wouldnt necessarily say joyless but i get where they are coming from when saying that but i would say its a harsh reality of the film. If youre not a part of a town where its safe anything at that time could hurt you. It actually shows a woman with those beliefs whos been sheltered talking to the folks who have been traveling and you can see there are two distinct views on whats going on

I thought he was pretty good in those films, but he almost disappears into this role. Real next-level stuff. One of the top performances of his career, I think.

I’d give it a 7 or 8/10.
The acting was fantastic, the scenery was beautiful, the story was fresh and deep.
Overall, fairy boring though. But it made you care about the characters and wonder more about each of their back stories.
Like the army prisoner who was to be transported to the gallows and hung.. what exactly did he do and why?

I really enjoyed this. It was pretty slow, but I don't mind that if the story and characters are interesting. Bale was great as usual. There are a ton of transition shots. They set up camp, talk, fight, travel, repeat. Not that it's a bad thing, I guess. Some of the shots look fantastic and they are on a pretty long trek.

Didn't realize Metz is the guy from Dazed and Confused.

He was great. Theres a couple scenes where bale is just phenomenal but one in particular where hes talking to one of his soldiers that happened to be the only black guy in there group really got to me on a deep level.

Idk why but that part stuck with me too. really good acting right there.

I’d give it a 7 or 8/10.
The acting was fantastic, the scenery was beautiful, the story was fresh and deep.
Overall, fairy boring though. But it made you care about the characters and wonder more about each of their back stories.
Like the army prisoner who was to be transported to the gallows and hung.. what exactly did he do and why?

Ben foster is a great actor too, wish he had more time on film. Didn't they state that he killed a whole family or something in the movie? But yeah this movie was slow but it worked great. 8/10
