Saw it earlier tonight after reading solid reviews from a number of sources

I'm a fan of the guy's work. I wanted that thing to be great. But in total honesty, it was a bummer hearing the same setups for observational comedy I'd heard for the last 25 years. Maybe it's because I'm from that industry I'm just being harsh, but good lord. Hard to believe I was hearing a 53 year old talk

I won't get into specifics just yet in case people loved every minute of this thing, I would be super interested in the positive reactions

Anyone see it yet

Saw the trailer. It might be underwhelming to see a guy who has $50 million or more in the bank making jokes of how tough it is for a black guy to live and work in the US.

Sure, it's easy to say that now, but you don't realize how hard Chris Rock has had it his whole life, being a black man in America. Yeah, he might have millions of dollars now, but he was also a millionaire 20 years ago. So that's like, decades of being a millionaire.

.. wait, that sounds pretty good actually. Well anyway, my point is, uh... cops in America are always trying to shoot him, and stuff. Because he is black. And he's been disenfranchised. Which I guess means, he used to have a franchise, and they took it away from him. Maybe a McDonald's restaurant or something? I'm not really sure.

Look, just watch the special. He will explain it better than I can

Watched like 20 mins turned it off. Also wtf is up with his smile? It looks fucking weird now.

He looks like the joker mated with Steve-O and they had a black baby.

Seriously does not even joking. Do you know what’s causing that? Been. A fan for years but his jokes were tired and his smile made me want to punch him. All I could think was Botox or plastic surgery.

yeah he just looks super fucked up. It was noticeable from like 5 seconds in. Def plastic surgery of some kind.

‘Roll with the New’ was fucking dope. This is not good.

but we needed "searing" comic insights, some new creative spark in the comedy industry like how people in relationships should fuck more, housewives be crazy, women in marriage/divorce have all the power, we need life to kick our ass to keep us 100, men are hound dogs women are sensitive, the police are dangerous and not to be trusted unless you need to call 911, and girls who fuck on the first date are sluts

don't forget his bit about sad married blowjobs or watching porn while married which is totally new observational comedy that comics like Louis C.K. wish they came up with with years ago

Well isn't making jokes about being black in America the reason he's a multimillionaire in the first place? Hard to give up what brought him to the dance.

There were plenty of funny moments throughout this show.

Is this as good as hisbold classic stand up specials? Of course not. Some of his old specials are the best stand up you’ll ever see

Finished watching this last night. It had some funny lines here and there, but was mostly boring and a little depressing. Seemed like he did a special for the money and to admit he cheated on his wife. Not a very good effort from him.

I’d be shocked if he brought up the difference between blacks and whites

It was just ok. If I went back and watched one of his old specials I would probably like this new one less.

I saw that this was available in netflix and was excited about it but didn’t watch. I did view the little trailer for it and came to the same conclusions of what some here have said. Although I’ll probably still watch and hope it’s good. His old stand up specials are brilliant.

Meh. Barely chuckled, but didn't really groan at anything either. Pretty darn ho-hum for Chris.
