Chinese MMA Thread: Redux

Predictably the heavies are all making wang jokes and assuming he's a random scrub. Pretty big signing as far as the Chinese scene goes though, he was arguably the top Chinese talent during his run in RUFF. He was out with a knee injury for awhile but returned with a win last month.

Make it happen Guan

I don't like how his last few opponents r 0-0 lol.

Let's see Guan Wang only lost to Bekulat Magomdov in RUFF so while UFC is getting all these WSOF guys who where getting too high pay they should try to snatch him up too. Also Josh Hill in WSOF as he has a win over Bekbulat. Also I seem to remember something about another Russian Marat Gafurov? in One C. who I thought was suspose to fight him for the title ? What happened there?

really glad to see wang guan in the ufc. hopefully he comes in looking as dangerous as he was during his RUFF days.

not sure if this is all of the MMA fights from Kunlun MMA 9 but here are three of them:

That face buster Lipeng hit on Franca tho

Weili and Lipeng need some high level opponents now, hopefully Kunlun can put something together

If UFC wants some women for thier China trips Zhang Weili is their best bet, others they can try Women's Bantam weights Yanan Wu 7-1 & Na Ling 3-0. (wish for Korean Ji Yeon Kim 6-0-2, but Jewels got her). Bo Meng 8-1, Women's Fly might change weight classes? Any others?

A couple very big developments coming to China in the next 12 months. Looking forward to updating everyone on it starting in 2018.

didn't even know liu pingyuan came back with WLF in 2016. one of the best in china and good to see he apparently hasn't lost it.

Kunlun has a relationship with Rizin and I heard Invicta does to. How about Weili v Souza in Rizin?

WLF W.A.R.S. 12 results

Liu Pingyuan won the Bantamweight title and is now on a 6 fight winning streak, including 5-0 since returning from a 3 year hiatus. Former ONE China Tournament champion, Wu Ze, picked up a win. His record is weird (takes a lot of consecutive day fights and had 5 fights in March 2015 including 4 in a single weekend) but he has good potential with his athleticism. Liang Na also moved to 4-0 and seems like she's worth keeping an eye on.

Kunlun Fight MMA 10 is taking place on Thursday. Pretty interesting card. Wang Sai is taking another squash fight, Heqin Lin, Yadong Song vs Skrivers, Jeremy May vs the 17-1 Bazigit Atajev who is returning after a decade away, and Musu Nuertiebieke

Cool to see Atajev pick up a solid win after so long away from MMA, and he did so in dominant fashion

Another event happened over the weekend with Chin Woo Men. RUFF vet Lianjie Liu picked up a heel hook win, Shunichi Shimizu snapped his lengthy losing streak, and Zha Yi improved to 6-0.

Several events going on this week:
Chinese MMA Super League featuring current ROAD FC China Trials semifinalist Zhenyue Huang vs former ZST champ and one-time high school fighting sensation Tetsuya Yamada.

Australian FC is for some reason holding a 2 night event in Shanghai.
Night 1 features Sokoudjou and Legend/RUFF vet Chengjie Wu who is fresh off of a slick submission win last month.
Night 2 features a Lightweight title fight, RUFF/Kunlun Fight vet Yafei Zhao, JMMA iron man Yuki Sasaki vs former CAGE champ Glenn Sparv, and Rhiannon Thompson (holds a win over Bec Rawlings in their debut fight) vs Bellator vet Arlene Blencowe.

I doubt it

Rodrigo Caporal vs Lipeng Zhang announced for Kunlun Fight MMA 11 on May 4th. This is probably Lipeng's toughest test in his current long win streak.

Another event happening in the next few hours. Krazy Horse vs Andrei Kulebin, Tuerxun Jumabieke, Weili Zhang vs Aline Sattelmayer, and Yodsanklai

Bellator recently signed WLF's Na Liang, seemed pretty out of left field but supposedly now Bellator and WLF have a working cooperation with each other.

Kunlun Fight MMA 11 is shaping up.
3 title fights to headline the card:
Jingnan Xiong vs Jungle Fight champ Simone Duarte for the women's Flyweight title
Meixuan Zhang defends his Flyweight title against long time OUTSIDER vet Masaharu Tsuchihashi
Lipeng Zhang defends his Welterweight against former RUFF champ and ROAD LW tourney competitor Rodrigo Caporal

Also on the card you have Krazy Horse vs RUFF vet Zhenhong Lu, Chinese MMA pioneer Haotian Wu vs WBK Lightweight champ Michael Dubois, and undefeated Huoyixibai Chuhayifu vs Full Metal Dojo vet Yodkaikaew Fairtex
