Never been to the US though, I'm just equating them with my impression of gated communities from PNG. Bunch of terrified foreign workers living on the compounds.

There is absolutely no way they are 64% white.

Lot's of cool guys in there that are about the complete opposite of how most liberals describe assault rifle toting conservatives. Just people that like guns.

I live in a gated community, and honestly, I've never once thought about the reason why it was gated, just like the place. So to me, this all seems like unnecessary bullshit that you guys are talking about when it comes to said communities.

Yea, I have a few friends that legit just like to get the parts and build the guns and then take it to the range. Just like a cool project or like building a car engine or something. Otherwise, the 100 some odd mass shootings of 3 or more people hit has occurred since 2000 like the graphic i posted? Chicago and Baltimore alone would destroy that stat in a year, any year given.
We are comparing events like this, sandyhook, columbine, mall shootings etc. 64% of those are white people crime (why, i have no idea but thats the trend generally). If you want to talk "standard 3 hits/fatalities" like gangland hood shootings, that another matter entirely.

An absence of this incident would have been luck, but we have to admit that what happened was a blessing in disguise. Yes, these Islamists killed people with guns, but they also had twelve IEDs in their house (if reports are correct). Imagine how many more people could have been killed, maimed, or injured with those pipe bombs? We're lucky that they were so inept that they couldn't make the bombs work, or got triggered and went off script, targeting the place/people they did before a more planned, calculated attack.

The fact that this was a shooting, and a shooting only, is a blessing in disguise.

Sure, if you ignore the value of personalizing/customizing. Someone brought up rental cars. What if you had access only to rentals and you couldn't move the seat or any of the mirrors? What if there was an emergency and you needed a car immediately but you'd have to go to the rental agency and maybe they're closed?
