Boxing gloves the same as kick ?

Halu. I wanna buy some kick-boxing gloves but all I saw at my local markets is boxing gloves. Are they the same ? What is the dif. between them ? I am attending a kickboxing class.

You can usually get away with using boxing gloves for a kickboxing class as the lines between the two have been blurred. Typically a Muay Thai/Kickboxing glove will have more padding on the back of the hand to allow you to block and absorb kicks better. Some Muay thai gloves will also come without the grip bar to allow for an easier clinch. Lastly, the cuff is typically shorter on Muay Thai gloves to again give you an easier time clinching.

A lot of gloves for Muay Thai have little to no wrist support for the clinch, boxing gloves tend to have much better wrist support. Best off getting some Twins gloves would be my suggestion.
