My wife came home all upset because she hit someone. She was crying and saying it was her fault, she didn't see him, etc.

Well I go pull the dash cam footage and watch the accident, lo and behold it wasn't her fault at all! This asshole was going way too fast and not paying attention and on top of that she had the right of way.

And my wife's not dumb either. It's just a shocking thing to be in an accident and sometimes the person just has trouble assessing the situation when all the adrenaline is going.

So yeah, the dash cam wasn't cheap, it was about $400 because I wanted a good one. But it's already paid for itself by saving us from that liability.

Traded in my personal truck... A badass Dodge Ram and got them cute little Nissan.

I have a company vehicle, so my truck wasn't being used. And fuck me, if I'm going to pay the insane insurance on two vehicles for no reason.

They're still on their permit and getting their license soon.

I'm having a borderline mental breakdown worrying about them driving solo.

My plan is to do the exact opposite. I'm keeping my truck (2012 GMC Sierra 1500) and when my first born daughter starts driving in 2027, she is gonna drive that truck.

I'm thinking based on the laws of physics.
Young drivers are terrible drivers. You learn to drive from experience actually driving, the license is a piece of paper.

So I want my babies (Currently 13 & 11) in the biggest and hopefully slowest vehicles possible.

I'm also thinking the truck will be less likely to encourage speeding, even though it has a powerful V8 and can absolutely haul ass.
