Eh, I'm calling no on Islam/Oliveira. That submission was largely set up by the Oliveira getting hurt and knocked down rather than pure grappling. Khabib's submission of Gaethje would be a better option.

I posted a thread the other day questioning what makes a KO "great". Is it technique, circumstance, other or everything together. Same goes for Subs.

HW – Obviously Mir/Nog, but I’ll never fucking admit that, so I’m going with Werdum over Cain, who seemed unbeatable at the time (little did we know, it was only Sea-Level Cain that was unbeatable)

LHW – Forrest/Shogun, but I’ll never fucking admit that (see a pattern here?), so I’m going with Frank Shamrock over Kevin Jackson

MW – Anderson over Chael due to the drama of the moment. (Honorable mention to Muniz over Jacare and Hernandez over Rodolfo Vieira due to their Jiu-Jitsu pedigrees)

WW – BJ Penn over Matt Hughes. Hughes was unbeatable at the time and Penn was moving up.

LW – Islam over Charles (Honorable mention to Khabib over Conor)

FW – KZ twister over Leonard Garcia (Honorable mention to Zabit’s Suloev Stretch over Brandon Davis)

One submission that used to get mentioned all the time that I always loved was Ryo Chonnan's scissor takedown on Anderson Silva to a heel hook. It was in Pride though.
