Best comedian to play serious and dramatic roles?

Are we talking strictly Stand up Comedians?
If not, I have to say John Goodman... Probably my favorite dual threat when it comes to Funny/Dramatic acting

Robin Williams was the king, but Bill Murray is also very accomplished in this regard.

Adam Sandler is surprisingly gifted with drama when he gives a flying fuck.

Steve Carell is very good as well.

John C. Reilly has rightly received some praise around here recently.

John Leguizamo isn't bad.

Rick Aviles (RIP) started out as a comedian and ended up doing good dramatic work before he died.

Whoopi Goldberg.

Michael McKean.
Great list. Throwing Michael McKean in there was like a wheel kick lol.

Dennis Leary, even though I hate his comedy and think he looks like an old lesbian.

Gilbert Gottfried. He played a convincing bird in Aladdin.

One of the creepiest characters in a film that i can remember

I like when he takes a dump in that one family's house.

Robin Williams was creepy as fuck in One Hour Photo

Insomnia also. For all the humanity he could exude onscreen, when he played a bad guy he was also disturbingly convincing.

Robin Williams wasn’t just a great actor-turned-comedian or vice versus, he was a great actor period.

Good Will Hunting
The Fisher King
The World According to Garp
Awakenings
One Hour Photo
Good Morning Vietnam
Moscow on the Hudson
