You do know that countries like China (with a third of the world's population) literally have a couple of billion people that practice martial arts of some form or another (even if its only Tai Chi)? Or the Phillipines where Escrima is common, or Thailand where Muai Thai is the national sport? I could continue...
There are far more martial arts practitioners in the world then there are those that "spar".... Yes there are more professional boxers than there are professional martial artists but given boxing has been around professionally since the 1700's while martial arts competition has really only become mainstream since the 1990's, it's understandable.
Yeah, when you consider how many people compete in a sport it puts things into great perspective. Like Muhammad Ali is considered a once in a life-time athlete. But in reality, if he played cricket or soccer he isn't even top 1000.
Looks like those other guys picked the wrong sport then.Yeah, when you consider how many people compete in a sport it puts things into great perspective. Like Muhammad Ali is considered a once in a life-time athlete. But in reality, if he played cricket or soccer he isn't even top 1000.
MMA is still well behind other sports when it comes to depth and talent levels. Not hating, just a fact.
