He's talking shit about Floyd, but it's very relevant to this "Mighty Mouse is the greatest fighter ever and if you don't agree you're a racist bigot who hates short people and doesn't appreciate technique" narrative that's been put out there
over 15 years ago, a green string bean 6-1 Anderson Silva defeated the #1 ranked p4p fighter Hayato "Mach" Sakurai and earned a unanimous decision in Japan at 168lbs. He dominated the stand up, walked him down, beat him up off his back and almost choked him out.
Nobody cared, Matt Hughes was elevated to #1 instead, Pride took a few years to give him a chance and never gave him a fair shake, and he was regulated to knocking out fools over in England like he was Conor McGregor.
Nonetheless he kept at it and put together the longest win streak in UFC history at 16 going up 37lbs to defeat UFC Hall of Famers Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin at 205. Rather than cry and complain about how he didn't get the credit he was due, he elevated himself to a new level and stole the star power of Vitor & Hendo by making light work of them
If and only if Mighty Mouse returns to 135 to beat Cody, TJ, and/or Cruz... then and only then should he be considered one of the greatest UFC champions. Let alone the best MMA fighter ever...
