Sure colonialists did some shitty things but without them we wouldnt exist and have our great country. You cant judge the past on the standards of the present.

It is an opinion piece and most of the comments are mocking the author, but these sentiments regarding statues are becoming more and more commonplace here. And we have a London mayor who'd most likely cower to the demands of the perpetually offended minority in the name of Social Justice.
