After Takeru vs Superlek, is it safe to say Masato is the GOAT Japanese kickboxer?

Fought better competition in a better era, clearly more skilled than Takeru, but never got the recognition of Tenshin and Takeru as p4p bests.

Tenshin prob wouldn't be undefeated if he had to fight someone like prime buakaw, sower, kyshenko and so on either.

Thoughts?

But man, Takeru looked so bad, it was ridiculous. How can you make it that far up the ranks, even p4p wise and doesn't know how to check kicks?

Toshio Fujiwara is the best Japanese kickboxer of all time. He was also the first farang to win a stadium Muay Thai title in Bangkok (Raja).

Obviously Takeru knows how to check kicks. He knew Takeru was going to utilize his hands, which means at some point, Takeru would have to commit to bearing his weight on his lead leg. Superlek timed this weight transition perfectly. Additionally, as the fight went on, Superlek seemed to understand Takeru's game better and found additional openings and setups to land his low kick. Mixing up knees to the body, head kicks, superb distance management, as well as his incredible timing.

Under 155 doesn't count, Masato is clearly the goat Japanese kickboxer. Beat everyone he ever faced in K1 max. 2 titles.

He's 32 and his body is shot to shit. a Comical amount of injuries in his career. Reminder Masato retired at 30.
Also checking against the p4p 1 muay thai fighter who is a kicking specialist is fucking hard. Its like asking Masato why he wasn't checking the kick of Buakaw or souwer lmao.

Tenshins resume is fucking ridiculous lol. His isn't far off from Masato's. I favor Tenshin skill wise over everyone Masato beat.

I think it's fair to say that Tenshin is the most naturaly talented kickboxer since the end of FEG K-1.

I think Masato was much more mentally strong and had the better resume.

p4p 1 muay thai fighter? said no one ever though.

Masato checked some. Takeru looked like Kawajiri or Kid against Masato, no idea how to check kicks.

I dunno about that, it's hard to say. Tenshin at Masato's class wouldn't be able to get away his style without his speed advantage. I think, in pound for pound sense.

But I mean, don't get me wrong. I don't necessarily disagree since speed and reflex is part of an equation.

Can't say I heard about the guy before, but he looks like he was a hell of a fighter.

It's just hard to see the guys fight in their primes in enough footages to really compare for me.

Masato is genuinely terrible at checking leg kicks as is every single silverwolf fighter ever. Also yes Superlek was p4p number 1 for a while and still is in many peoples eyes. Who is there to even rank above him in muay thai right now lol.

Tenshin has better defensive habbits then Masato by a lot. I'd argue Masato used his quickness more. Masato would just manny pac like rush into flurries instead of setting up.

Show me a fight where Masato looked one tenth as bad as Takeru did checking kicks though.

I mean Tenshin's really good so, but I just don't think he would be undefeated if he fought Masato's competition.
