All the fortune cookie talk in the world isn't going to change the fact that tonight's outcome tells us nothing about how an unrelated matchup would go.
It's not fortune cookie talk to watch the fights and examine the skills the fighters in question bring to the cage. Predicting winners would be but that's not what this is.
With Lee vs Barboza we got to see just how good Lee's top game can be. Edson had no answer for it. In Lee vs Ferguson, Tony did have an answer. It doesn't predict a winner between Ferguson and Khabib but we got to see that Tony can deal with a heavy top game like Lee and Khabib bring. It was back and forth till Tony pulled out the submission. Whether Tony could do it against Khabib, remains to be seen but it's possible. It sure isn't like Barboza getting ground to pulp.
