African Boxers

the women are gorgeous of course with beatiful healthy bodies.
yeah, not to be sexist or misogynistic or anyhing, but based off of the Ethiopian women I know, it's a real shame Sherdog doesn't have a heart eyes emoji ;)

this was my thought too. Afghanistan, Timor-Leste, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Bangladesh, Nepal, Guatemala, Bolivia, and various others are all nations with significant poverty (that aren't African) and between them all I can't think of any significant, high level boxers. There has to be a boxing culture, and some boxing infrastructure/resources.

To be fair, Southeast Asia is dominated by Kickboxing/Muay Thai and the countries in the middle east have had a lot of war and instability to deal with (not that Africa doesn't get its fair share of wars and such, too), and I believe those are big factors when it comes a big lack of boxers coming out of those countries. Also, I think wrestling is bigger in the middle east as well, but I could be wrong there haha

I feel like you're thinking of the horrific famine in South Sudan. South Africa, while definitely victim to many problems (including arguably the worlds worst wealth inequality), isn't exactly in a state of famine. And the whole "blacks can't farm" line as a response to land nationalization seems a little hackneyed doesn't it?
Well. I was more talking about the expropriation of land and lack of property rights being a problem for foreign investors. Aswell as not having access to basic infrastructure any kind of modern farming techniques, machinery, genetically modified crops etc that take less time to cycle. Farming isn't as easy as putting a seed in the ground. Especially if said farmers salt the earth before either leaving or being shot

May sound easy but this happened in Zimbabwe a few years ago. I dont think those legitimate concerns are a little hackneyed.

I think they're fucked. Bless them.

Wrestling is pretty big in both Asia and India aswell as Pakistan. Horses for courses.

Traditionally Europe and America have always been at the forefront of the boxing world.

It's just dependant on culture/access to said training facilities. Same reason you get great long distance runners from africa but they don't have a swimming team.

That's why, from a certain point of view, the impoverished in developed countries actually have the most statistically significant chance of becoming premier athletes; they get - in a morbid way - the best of both worlds.

We’re all Africans if you go far back enough - cradle of man and all that.
This is totally debatable nowdays. The science on it is sketchy as fuck. Also given that Africa wasn't even in existence when man was first around and continental drift is a massive factor.

Who knows.

Like the user above said, the science is sketchy on it. Once they find out we all just came from an asteroid sent from the previous civilization on Mars (no proof I just have a good hunch and a lot of arguments I can try to make), the hunt will move there and the search for man's origins will continue.

The point is that we all have the same origins.

I have worked as security advisor and medical cover on large mining projects around Africa and the biggest budget other than the engineering department was environmentalists (people who were there to please the locals).

The local villages were given jobs (for woman as well as men), they were offered free educational courses in a plethora of technical skills, they were even offered the education to match the agricultural equipment.

I'll give you one guess how well the locals fared despite given all the opportunities in the world...

My point is, you can lead a donkey to water, but you can't force the cunt to drink it!

This. Thank you for the insight. It sounds simple. It is not at all. Now it's going to be even worse becasue they've lost the trust of the international community.

Socialism is bad. Very very bad. Basic economics have been thrown out of the window.

This is the term we should use. Obviously colour is only determined by your exposure or lack of to the sun. It probably comes across as tho I'm not keen to accept that we all "come from africa" or that I would have a problem with that (which I dont) but the connotation of saying we all came from africa is quite different to we all have the same origins.

Not to pick at bones mate but I find there is a lot of disengenousness around nowadays especially in the era of identity politics we are currently in.

If that makes some kinda sense.

Oh I know, that was just my poor attempt at trying to be funny; sorry about that. I realize now it didn't come off the way I wanted haha

Not really - if we all have the same origins, does it really matter if they are in what is now Africa? If I said we all had our origins in South East England would that be any different / better?

No because it would be incorrect unless backed by concrete scientific research. Again. Not that guy. I Just want truth.

Anyways. I kinda derailed the thread which I shouldn't have done. So i apologise for that.

Efe ajagba raw. But looks like he's gonna be one to watch.

Edit: video really doesn't do him justice til around half way through. And most of his opponents want to go down early as they know what's coming.

You could say that but how do you deal with mixed race? Many African Americans have a bit of white blood in them due to racial interbreeding (the average African American has 24% European genetic make up in them). And how long have they or their ancestors been away from Africa? 1 generation like Anthony Joshua or 10 generations? If we go back far enough then we are all African apparently.....
No we aren’t, I have no African dna

Check out isaac dogboe born in ghana lives in UK now, the kid is a little monster and is legitimately one of the best African boxer's we got today.
