Why is it OK for Ronda to take time off but not Cyborg?

Does the UFC get to demand when fighters fight?

Even when they are sick? Physically or mentally? Isn't mental illness a big problem in the US (depression, PTSD, etc)? Isn't mental illness the real problem (not Guns!) in the US?

Conor is taking time off.

Ronda took a year off.

Cyborg is physically drained and depressed.

Whatever the reason, why don't fighters get to decide when they feel ready to fight without being publicly condemned? Or are they not free people anymore?

Or is mental illness still not taken seriously? Hurt your knee and it is understandable. Hurt your brain and it isn't?
 
I think depression is a side effect of abusing steroids for too long.

Probably because of the constant whining from Cyborg, and then when she gets offered what she wanted, she now says no and needs time off. That is why she is getting so much shit right now.

But she said she is ready in a few months. That's it. She didn't turn down an opponent. Obviously things change after she had to fight at 140 with a horrible UFC nutritionist that harmed her body. She still wants to fight at 145.
 
The difference is Ronda and Conor paid their dues before taking a break.

Of course, it was the UFC's nutritionist that's to blame. Cyborg is just once again the victim here. Jesus christ people. At some point in time she has to to take the blame for cutting 24 pounds in one week like an idiot.
 
Am I wrong, or wasn't she just campaigning for a 145 division and TS not long ago?

Jesus Christ people, sometimes an explanation is an explanation. When you hire someone and follow their instructions because they are a UFC professional then that is what you do! She is not hiring him again.

Please post where she was campaigning for a fight before she was able to recover and start training in March. Thank you!
 
Taking 1 year off after receiving brain damage = Understandable

Taking 6 months off to 'recover' from a weight cut = Lol
 
Ronda can afford to take time off she got BIG BANK, Cyborg needz to pump gas in between fights she can't afford an extended vacation.
 
Cyborg shouldn't have accepted her last catch weight fight on an 8 week notice. Nor should she fault George Lockhart for the hellish weight cut. She accepted and gave her nutritionist an unrealistic goal to meet.

Nice re-write of history.

The nutritionist said she should take the fight because he could get her on weight.
