I don't know if there's a legal stipulation disclosed in the UFC buyout contract, but what else can stop the fertittas from starting a new fight promotion based in Las Vegas. They can lure fighters, commentators, ring girls etc.. With 4 billion dollars.

Anyone else feels this is a possibility in the future?

So.. they're going to sell their business, which had it's worth because of it's assets, and then.. create a new business without those assets in the hopes that they get them back?

Yeah why not from A business they bought for a couple million bucks. Now they have the money to outbid for fighters.

Seems incredibly risky and stupid. Their brand value was worth a ton alone, which they would have to rebuild (branding takes a long time).

A lot of fighters are under contract, that will take a fuck ton of money to get them out of. They'd essentially be "prestiging" but IRL, except with a lot of added risk.

Do you know how business works? Little tip, massive amounts of money, can get assets pretty easily.

Little tip, contracts can be a bitch. Also, the Fertittas were already holding massive amounts of money. You don't sell a business that was estimated to be a 4 billion dollars which is largely in brand value and held assets so that you can rebuy your assets and start a NEW brand. ESPECIALLY when you're already a billionaire with connections.

Obviously they are not going to take the fighters from the UFC for god sake. They could literally buy Bellator and Rizin and put it together if they wanted.

Regardless it's still IMO not a smart move.

The probability of getting to a remotely similar level is not very high.

If anything they'd be better off buying a portion or all of something like Bellator, but I'd be willing to bet for $4B they signed a no-compete.

that's even fucking worse you idiot. For somebody who so smugly asked if I "know how business works" you sure come up with horrible ideas.

Bellator and Rizin put together has not even half of the brand value or asset value UFC had. It's such a stupid fucking idea you'd have to be Bernie Sanders to think it makes sense.

So, did the UFC have any brand or asset value at the start of the venture? Ofcourse not. That's why you build something that's worth a lot, out of something that's worth a little, and this is even easier if you have massive amounts of money to pour into it. The fact that you don't understand this, speaks a lot to your intelligence. The fact that you have to resort to ad hominum even more.

Fertitas financial backing would make it very easy to market something like this, they would obviously need a different spin on it, and to sign new fighters.

And to the question to I think it's possible, obviously. Do I think it's a good idea? Probably not.

the fertitas still hold a small share of the ufc. i don't see any reason why they would want to do what you are describing.

It's a solid question, but i believe the majority of people here think they won't do it because 1) they just went out of one, with the biggest, most recognizable brand name and the best fighters, tied by long term contracts 2) they're in the business of making money, not MMA. Ultimately, we don't know their plans.

I'd bet the farm there's a non-compete clause of great length involved here.

TS has made a reasonable question. With all the know-how they have, they would be able to build a big MMA org way easier than 99% of managers.

Several replies seem concerned and don't get why the Fertittas would do that after selling the UFC. There are 4 billions reasons.

No, the UFC didn't have any brand or assets at the start, that's what a start is, you fucking mongoloid. The MMA climate is completely different than when they bought the UFC (MMA in north america and everywhere outside of Japan was pretty much non-existent). When they bought the UFC which had very little value, they hadn't just spent decades on an organization that had enormous brand value and all the best fighters signed to it before deciding to buy the UFC.

I can't tell if you're trolling at this point. I never said it was literally impossible. I said it was a fucking retarded idea (Which it is) and you came in saying HURR DO YOU EVEN KNOW BUSINESS BRO?

Again, you show your ignorance. Ofcourse the landscape is different, but if you think the Fertitas can't put something like this together and make it profitable with the current financial backing they have, you're just hilariously uninformed.
And that's exactly what I said. If it can be done once, it can be done again, regardless of circumstances. I see why you have yellow cards though, you can't put together a coherent argument without resorting to OMFGG RETARD OMFG MONGOOLOID.
