Crime 2 Escaped American XL Bulldogs kill 22 pregnant ewes and maul 46 before being shot dead in Wales

My Pakistani mate had a Kutta, but to me it looked more like a pitbull than the images you see when you google the breed.
Was it a Gull Terr maybe? I think Kutta just means "dog" in hindi. Because Bully Kuttas are a very large Mastiff breed. Similar in size to a Great Dane. There are many many variations and they don’t really breed "true." Meaning they do not have a set breed standard & their offspring vary drastically in looks. Since its a working dog its bred more so for working ability than to replicate a certain look.

Almost like a perfect cross between both breeds, having googled it. What are kutta's bred for, originally?

One of the dogs died after being restrained and the other died after an injection was given by a vet, police said.

The 'uniquely dangerous breed' has been responsible for nearly 50 per cent of all attacks on both humans and dogs, and 70 per cent of all deaths to dogs since 2021, Dr Lawrence Newport claimed.

C1DiXhKMoPlSafe6EVBuZQk_jlIll0Gd3v-3Tr2Tb-_90wdckfeejD7g5rvuvkuq11ix6_Wp7Q=s900-c-k-c0x00ffffff-no-rj

Dr Newport

He added: “We actually know that bans work because we’ve had one in place on pit bulls since 1991. That ban has been very successful. And we know that because, for example, in the UK we have half the per capita deaths to dogs that the US does, and that difference is entirely explained by pit bulls."

Upcoming Amnesty and Ban

American XL Bully dogs will be banned 'by the end of the year' but this does not mean the dogs will be killed.

The government says it will be an offence to own, breed, gift or sell an XL bully. It says there will be a transition period, with the details yet to be confirmed.

Chief veterinary officer Professor Christine Middlemiss

christine-middlemiss-1-640-620x407.jpg

confirmed an 'amnesty' approach would mean there would not be a cull of the dogs.

“There will be an amnesty,” Prof Middlemiss told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. “So people that already have these dogs – and some of them will be well socialised, well managed, well trained – you will need to register and take certain actions.

Your dog will need to be neutered. It will need to be muzzled when out in public and on a lead and insured.

But if you comply with these actions, and that means we’ll know where these dogs are, which will be a massive benefit, then yes, absolutely you will be able to keep your dog."

A ban on American XL bully dogs may prove ineffective in the short term, with limited resources in police forces to enforce new laws and the prospect of a backlog in the courts, experts warned this weekend.

Some police forces only have one or two trained dog legislation officers. The police and the courts may be required to deal with hundreds of cases from owners of XL bully dogs seeking exemptions to any ban.

A dog can be given an exemption to the Dangerous Dogs Act if it can be proved to the courts it is not dangerous, under an amendment introduced in 1997. There are about 3,500 dogs on the index of exempted dogs in England, Wales and Scotland. They must be neutered, microchipped and muzzled in a public place.

Michael Barnett,

MB.jpg

an expert witness on dangerous dogs and former dog legislation officer at Warwickshire Police, said there were limited resources, and it may take several hundreds of hours of court time for those wanting their XL bully dogs to be exempted.

Barnett said large police forces may only have five or six trained dog legislation officers who might provide evidence in cases, and smaller police forces only one or two.

“The resources are simply not there and at the moment the system wouldn’t cope with it,” he said“This is a kneejerk reaction and they would be better looking at responsible ownership, responsible breeding and an in-depth look at licensing.”

The details of how XL bullies may be registered
XL bully dogs are not a legally-recognised breed, and the government is convening a panel of experts to define the breed, with a view to implementing a ban by the end of the year.
Very interesting article
-LOL at comparing UK post 1991 ban dog attack data to the USA.... Instead of comparing pre ban UK data to post ban UK data. That is absolutely ridiculous.
- Police expert witness is saying licensing makes more sense than a ban
-Oh wow they know it's not a " legal real breed" but ban the breed....hmmm the logic lol

Almost like a perfect cross between both breeds, having googled it. What are kutta's bred for, originally?
The crosses between Bully Kuttas & Gull Terrs
Are often called Gull Dongs from what I remember.

These dogs were bred primarily as game dogs to bait or fight unfortunately. They are still used in that capacity today.
However, there is a lot of mystery & lore surrounding these "breeds" that may not be the 100% truth. I rarely encounter an honest or decent owner of these dogs. Much of what they say is inflated & exaggerated. Which is kind of to be expected for people participating in such a sick sport.

Boom, that's exactly how it looked (gull dong). Exactly. Yeah, I kinda suspect my mate was secretly dogfighting to be honest. A lot of his circle had 'pitbulls' (or crosses labelled pitbulls) and he would often talk about how dogfighting was big in his family's area of Pakistan.

He had a Gull Dong in the UK? ?? If so that's pretty interesting & cool. Would love to hear more about that dog.a
Yeah I know it used to be pretty big in Pakistan. Like they would have tournaments & the crowds would look like a packed high-school football or basketball game. Shocking. I, also heard surprisingly that a lot of the religious fundamentalist groups or groups the West would label as terrorists were very against and it was on the decline. Like they actively looked to outlaw it in the areas they controlled.

Where did you shit that fact out? lol...

Like I said, he claimed it was a bully khutta but it looked a lot more like the google images of a gull dong.

It was not a dog I enjoyed being around, fortunately was only a couple times. Didn't trust it. Powerful looking and pure white.

Regarding the bolded I'd imagine it was far less about animal rights and far more about the gambling associated with such things.

I read that it was both. I'm pretty sure the Quran and the Prophet Mohammad spoke specifically about animal abuse and the treatment of animals. I remember reading some passages stating that a bad deed done to an animal is considered the same as a bad deed done to man. That its displeasing to their only God, Allah. It seems to be considered a major sin in Islam
I'm sure gambling was a part of it too though.

I heard somewhere that these “muderdogs” have the ability to inject the bad aids through their bites, but only intentionally. Never by accident.

This is really becoming an agenda they're trying to push then... Don't care for dogs at all, they're hairy muts, ban them all for all I care, but to try and ban a certain breed is laughable and shouldn't be allowed.

Despite dog breed bans being largely populist (and debatable in their effectiveness), it's easy to forget these moves are a response to the populism and fashions that make these dogs increasingly popular among ding dongs and inappropriate owners.

Simply saying "breed bans are populist and don't work" isn't a full-focus response.

- A couple of years ago, golden retrievers were the dog of the moment here.
When i was a kid, was the Great Dane. Dogs arent fashion items, but those people aretoo stupidy.

I remember seeing a genetic study where they showed like, German shepherds are one of the smartest breeds just by looking at their genomes, and that pitbulls are the most aggressive out of the 20 something breeds they looked at

Bully Walk

XL Bully owners plan mass walk and encourage everyone to bring as many kids as possible.

In a caption for the advert the poster said: 'Everyone share the life out of this!!

We need to stand up for our dogs!! We need to show the government how friendly and loving our big dogs are.'

Jake Harris, 21, from the 0121 Bullys Instagram and TikTok accounts,

told Birmingham Live that the walk has been organised to show that 'Bullys are not the problem'.

'It's all about the owners,' he said, adding that none of his three XL Bullys would 'hurt a soul'.

He continued: 'Yes they might look big and scary but they are big family dogs! I’ve got my fingers crossed there will be a lot of families there. '

Mr Harris said the aim of the walk is to prove to the Government how 'friendly and loving our big dogs are'.

Dog Attack, Home Invasion and Cat Killing by Rottweilers

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...harge-driveway-mauling-family-cats-death.html

The attack unfolded on a suburban street in Chelmsley Wood, north of Solihull in the West Midlands, at lunchtime on Wednesday the 30th of August.

Chilling doorbell camera footage shows homeowner Paisley, 31, chatting merrily to her pet orange cat Dave as she unloads shopping from her car.

Less than 30 seconds later the two large black dogs can be seen bounding up to the door, as the family yell in panic.

Mum-of-five Paisley, who did not give her surname, said the dogs charged into the house and 'destroyed' the kitchen as they mauled Dave and dragged black and white cat Oreo off of the kitchen counter, 'pinning' it to the fridge.

75565639-12532393-image-a-8_1695060857928.jpg

Dave

The dogs are also said to have damaged a radiator cover as they bounded into the house to carry out the brutal and relentless attack.

Paisley told Birmingham Live: 'They just started attacking the cats.

'I've come in and followed the dogs in and they're attacking my cats in the kitchen, they literally got on my kitchen side to drag Oreo off the side.

75565633-12532393-image-a-9_1695060934646.jpg

Oreo

'Obviously I'm trying to get these dogs off (but) they had Oreo pinned at the fridge, they were too big.'

By the end of the traumatic attack, which has left her children suffering nightmares, Dave was dead, while Oreo died later after vets deemed his injuries impossible to survive; the black-and-white cat had a broken back and grievous internal bleeding.

Paisley added: 'The vet said the dogs had damaged Dave's eye and without an autopsy they don't know whether he died from internal bleeding or in shock. We found him on a grass verge round the corner.

Police were called but the mum says the officers were 'of no help' - and West Midlands Police says it has 'spoken to' the owner of the dogs but is yet to take any further action.

A force spokesperson said: 'We were called to Raglan Way, Chelmsley Wood (on the 30th of August) to reports of two dogs attacking another dog. The injured dog was taken to the vets to be treated.

'The owners of the two dogs were spoken to and were taken back home to be secured by the owners.

'We have asked neighbourhood officers to speak to the dogs' owners regarding securing the animal, and will consider any further steps that need to be taken to ensure public safety.'

Pasley Park

A man was rushed to hospital on Friday evening after being attacked by a dog, believed to be an American bully XL, in a south London park.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said the victim, aged in his 40s, was bitten on the arm in Pasley Park, Walworth, just after 6pm.

They said that the owner fled the scene with the grey dog before officers arrived.

Efforts are being made to track down the owner, the spokesperson added.

They told the BBC: 'There have been no arrests. Inquiries are ongoing.'

Some residents in Walworth near to Pasley Park said they 'lived in fear' of the American XL bully dogs. Others felt the breed should be 'muzzled'.

'He's a harmless big baby who wouldn't hurt a fly.'

Is anyone else as confused as I am? American Bulldogs are like Chance from the movie Homeword Bound. They're tall dogs, not even super muscular, not at all like the short mass of muscle in the OP.

Dog breeds are widely different so I don't see the issue with have laws for specific breeds. What the gov. should do is have special requirements and licenses for certain breeds, like how they do for big cats, gators, crocs and certain wild animal species.
