I worry this issue will backfire on us (Republicans). Yes this issue polls well eith the base, but I think ultimately we will take blame for it from moderate voters. Because we took the House and don't really have any accomplishments to show for it. Plus Republicans voted against border security in the FY23 budget as well as the last major bipartisan H.R. 6136 /S.744, the Border Security and Immigration Reform Act. Dems like Chuck Schumer made us look weak on the border by rejecting over $40 billion in funding while also defending customs and Border Patrol funding.

We need action and solutions or we will get trounced again at the elections.
