Cake or Pie?

Pie. Specifically cheesecakes, sugar-crusted cobblers, or peanut-butter / chocolate pies (I especially love the ones that have a hard layer of chocolate at the bottom of the pie just on top of the crust...I don't even know how they do that).

Except for ice cream cakes, but that's cheating, because we're just talking about ice cream which you can add to either (because ice cream >>> pies or cakes).

Pie wins by default just because of all the savory options.

How many savory cakes are there? I can only think of crab cakes and meatloaf. Both are good, but compare that to chicken pot pie, turkey pot pie, steak and kidney pie, pasties, etc. Hell, you can pretty much put any kind of meat you want into a pie and it'll be great. Pie wins this hands down.

Even if we're restricting the conversation to sweet pies, I still have to go with pie. I'll take cherry pie over any kind of cake honestly.
