Are you optimistic White can fix the boxing industry?

DAZN has exclusive rights with Canelo, and you don't think dana can get top talent?

lol
Do you really think Dana White is the guy to pay boxers what they make elsewhere? Come on, guy. Snow in a Vegas driveway doesn't pay for itself. Serious, high level boxers aren't touching this unless they're getting paid, which seems unlikely.

Dana White's new model for boxing is about making more money for the owners/promoters.

Its capitalism at its finest!! Its the American way, get rich off of someone elses hard work. Dont hate because we are broke, you should build your own company and show the world how it should be. Would you share what you built with everyone?? That would be socialism and very counter productive.

Dana White Throws His Hat in the Ring

UFC President Has Big Plans to "Completely Revamp the Boxing Industry"

UFC President Dana White has been teasing a move into the boxing industry for years. From the sounds of it, the time is finally upon us.

According to a report from Mike Coppinger of The Athletic Boxing, White recently made an important executive hire for Zuffa Boxing — though it’s not clear who he hired.

“Sources tell @TheAthleticBOX Dana White has hired a person to run his boxing division (unofficially referred to as Zuffa Boxing) as UFC president looks to enter the space. It’s unknown who the hire is, but person will be tasked with helping Dana make boxing venture a major player” – Mike Coppinger on Twitter

Shaun Al-Shatti, a writer for The Athletic MMA, then followed up with Dana White. White explained that the targeted timeframe for Zuffa Boxing’s launch is October.

“Asked Dana White about this today. He confirmed a key hire has been made and said he’s targeting October for the launch of Zuffa Boxing. He wouldn’t attach a name to the hire, but I asked if it was someone boxing fans would be very familiar with: ‘I don’t think so. No.'” – Shaun Al-Shatti on Twitter.

White confirmed these reports from Coppinger and Al-Shatti in an interview with MMA Junkie.

“I’m hoping October,” White said. “[The new hire] be sitting in his office in October. I’m building his office right now. It’ll be done soon, and hopefully he’ll be sitting at it in October.”

With Zuffa Boxing, Dana White plans to completely revamp the boxing industry.

“I’m going to break the model and rebuild it,” he claimed. “The model is broken, we all know it. Everybody knows it. You don’t have to be a (expletive) rocket scientist to figure that out. The model is broken, it needs to be fixed, and we’ll see if I’m the guy to do it.

“Listen, I told you guys a year ago, however long ago it was – two years, I don’t remember – but I’m getting into boxing,” White said. “I needed to take my time, do my homework. I’ve met with literally everybody who’s anybody out there. There’s still a couple more coming. I got a meeting with a couple of English guys and we’ve pretty much talked to and met with everybody. Everybody wants to work with us. Everybody wants to be a part of it, everybody was more excited and open-minded than I expected, and I’m feeling pretty optimistic.”

Nobody worth a damn is signing with you Dana.

He and Fertittas should buy the Raiders instead.

Dream job............ makes me want to cry.

He should do celebrity boxing there will be money in it and it will get people talking. I can remember all that talk about jcvd and I think the green power ranger fighting this will be the perfect place for all of those freak show kinda fights. Much easier for celeb boxing than it is MMA. Is this the future of fighting he was on about?

Greg Hardy vs Dustin Diamond

I think they should consider promoting jujitsu as well even though there isn't much money in it, it would be relatively cheap to produce and it would help them create some name recognition for any of their jujitsu guys who happened to cross over in to MMA. I think sponsoring youth jujitsu events might even be worth it for them since it would be cheap and a lot of people who are into jujitsu also become mma fans. Increasing the popularity of jujitsu could help increase the popularity of mma.

Ain't nobody trying to watch that crap.

He is doing this for one reason and one reason only. He is trying to lure the GOAT back to the UFC.

But he should know better. Artem doesn't box with fuckin' gloves.

Greg Hardy vs Dustin Diamond

Ain't nobody trying to watch that crap.
Even if literally no one watches it, it can be used for promotion. "Fighter A is official zuffa jujitsu tournament winner". They already talk up every single black belt.

Plus all of the Top guys are with either PBC, Top Rank or Matchroom with DAZN money. Whatever dana is trying to do it will be like JayZ's RocSports joke of a boxing promotion and NO ONE FROM THOSE 3 will let Dana snatch their guys.

As big a clusterfuck as Roc Nation's boxing foray was, they at least got some top level talent to sign on. I'd be shocked if Zuffa boxing, or whatever they're going to call this trainwreck, got that far.

Yes it is. Do you walk into a restaurant and start arguing about how much they are paying their chefs? GTFO you scrub

Lol dont try to sound smart with your analogy...cause its obviously stupid. Guess what, people discussed, discusses and will discuss how much people are making in their lives. People also always discusses how much an employee is making compared to his boss, one german guy with a big beard called that class struggle. And yeah those kind of questions used to get heated sherlock

God damn Dana is an impressive individual...

Not only his he performing his regular work schedule but he's also building this man an office in top of it all, amazing!!

As a Carpenter it bothers me when people say "We're" or "I'm" building a house/ office/ store or whatever when in reality they are not and do not know how to build shit and are paying someone like me a great deal of money to build it for them.

Lol, sorry, kind of a pet peeve of mine.

Even if the UFC actually paid elite boxers enough to sign on, then what? You'll have UFC champs realizing how badly screwed they are on pay. Which actually might be good for the sport admittedly. Even though Zuffa Boxing is a terrible idea.

You've been saying this for at least 3 years, tomatohead.

Should have Conor fight for some boxing belts. I doubt there's a boxer under 160 that could beat Conor right now. He would easily merk Pacquiao or Loma

That isn't' where I was going with it.

If Dana wanted to make some real money, he would exploit athletes as badly as the NCAA does.

Saying he's hired a major exec but we don't know him but he's building his office... maybe he should find the exec we know before building his office.

The marketing of this rollout needs some work.

Why does it bother you so much? Does building shit mean only the physical manual labor part of it?
