Perhaps, but still, an unnecessary legal exposure considering the minimal upside. I'm not sure how much that argument about a firewall would hold up in court if you have mma fighters crossing over between boxing and mma under effectively the same promoter.

Zuffa Boxing was Dana's idea, and it had like three different failed launches.
Dana is never going into boxing. His business model is literally illegal in that sport, and nobody would voluntarily put up with his shit when they have other options.

The median pay for UFC fighters is higher than the median pay for pro boxers. The pay for top boxers is better though.

Median based on what? There's a fuck of a lot more boxers than there are people on the UFC roster.
It's not just top level guys who get paid more. Guys who were famous from the amateurs and the Olympics have gotten seven figure contracts before they were anywhere near title contention; ie Amir Khan, Audley Harrison and Anthony Joshua. Daniel Dubois, who's still a prospect, got a million pounds to fight Joe Joyce. None of that is even possible in MMA.
Also, guys who aren't big draws can work their way to a fight against a top level guy and then retire off of a seven figure payday like Maidana did after the Mayweather fights. In MMA, a guy who's not a draw then gets to a title shot isn't going to get paid any real money unless he wins the belt and defends it for a while.

Because this whole after party everyone is enjoying including Mayweather tears at the very fabric that made Dana White and other "controlling" promoters rich. That ol' keep em stupid and control from within way of management.
But it's the internet age Dana and folks, even Mayweather (hehe), are starting to become more intelligent.

The goof underestimated how uncooperative Boxing is with each other. He thought he could put together good cards and unite boxers lol. Which of course is a fantasy Boxing is corrupt as hell and everyone hates on each other.
For how dumb promoters can be in boxing, co-promotion isn't uncommon. When's the last time you saw the UFC co-promote?

Yeah, it's that, or technically Mayweather-McGregor. Or if you consider them playing footsie with Fedor/M-1 over the years. My point isn't that Zuffa Boxing would have failed because boxing is too uncooperative, it's because Dana is far too uncooperative to ever thrive in that industry. There's a reason you don't see promoters shit on their boxers the way Dana routinely does.
