I think they are pretty well protected by the gov'ts where the two populations are, but I am shocked noone has attempted to get one to the surface decompressed to put in an aquarium.

Spring Salamander (Gyrinophlis sp) this is a specimen I collected when I was 16-17ish, gave it to a local bio prof in western MA and it made its way to Harvard MCZ and my friend who's in charge of the herp collection called me and said "did you ever collected a large gyrinophlis in western MA?" I laughe and went and saw it the next day.

I'm amending my G for garter snake. New research shows garter snakes become poisonous after eating rough skinned newts. Poisonous not venomous.

OK. I'm getting a pot bellied pig and a hen tomorrow morning. Any advice? I've never had animals other than my dog and fish. I converted my kids' playhouse into a tiny barn. I just put down some blankets and a bunch of hay.
