Watching Tate coaching on the show has been difficult for Zingano, she said on the show.

"It's tough. I realize I earned that spot," she said. "I beat Miesha for it. It's a little hard to watch."

And because she has that win over Tate, that's all the more reason why she hopes to see Rousey retain her title in December. Then, in theory, she'll be next in line to fight the current champ once both her knees have healed in full.

She's also not worried about Rousey's signature armbar, should it come down to that.

"I'm not chasing Miesha becase I've already beat her," Zingano said. "I'm going after Ronda and starting back where I left off. I don't spend any time training on armbars. I think Ronda has her armbar in her back pocket and relies on it. I'm not training for anyone I fight. I train for me."

She had left knee surgery too?
Damn

Where are all the retards that said she was faking and the UFC pulled her to make a more appealing TUF?

Stem cell therapy. The knees should make speedy recovery.

Zingano better get the next title shot, though "deserve" doesn't mean much in the UFC these days I'm afraid.

Only way she won't is if Tate upsets RR and its close

Stem cells, straight from the source, in a video link:

Makes sense, for her, Rousey is clearly the lesser of two evils.

Good that she's rooting for Rousey.
Bad that she's not training to defend for the armbar.

I figured it was almost a given that Zingano would be pulling for Rousey. She's very likely to get the next shot at the belt and wants to be the first woman to defeat Rousey because she knows that win would be bigger than a Tate rematch ever could be.

If Ronda beats Tate again hopefully Cat beats her ass.. she would be a good champion.

I think that was just her way of saying she is not worried about Rouseys armbar. There's no doubt she has a better grappling background than almost all the women Ronda has beaten. I actually think she has a good shot at beating her and even more so if its her next fight.

Still a very dumb think to say and still even dumber if she is not giving that armbar top priority. As others have noted, Tate made literally first week BJJ mistakes when she tried to get out of it, made it pretty damn obviously she was way in over her head when it come to proper defense. I only hope if Zingano Rousey actually happens that Zingano manages not to look that clueless.

What she is saying she is doing & actually doing by the time they meet can be very different
She is at least 6 months away from being in the octagon

I'm looking past Zingano.

Sara McMann is the fight I want to see and the only fight anybody should be excited for.

When you're dealing with a specialist, you're almost never going to be better defending against their attack than they are using their attack. There are very few UFC fights where you see someone beating their opponent at their own game (with exceptions, of course. Randy vs Chuck 1 comes to mind, and of course Alan Belcher vs Palhares)

I think Cat is doing the right thing, focusing more about worrying about how she's going to take the fight where she wants, instead of just drilling armbar defense to defend the best armbars in all of MMA. Better to just work on beating Ronda in the clinch, or outstriking her.

What you say makes sense to a degree.

One of the best ways to avoid the arm bar is in fact to keep the fight standing.

Now, can Cat keep this fight standing??

Against an Olympic medalist in judo? Good luck with that Cat.

I agree Rousey vs. McMann would be a good fight, but I have a bad feeling about that fight ever happening.

McMann is old and thus far she bailed/canceled out of 2 most competitive fights in her career (against Davis in Strike Force and Kaufman in UFC).

Does anyone know what's happening with McMann these days?
