Zabit Magomedsharipov vs Islam Makhachev 2012 Combat Sambo fight

Recently I found a recording made in 2012 from a Combat Sambo competition in Ingushetia. The fighters are Zabit Magomedsharipov and Islam Makhachev. At this point in time no one knew that they would both end up in the UFC. The recording is from Islam's corner and you can actually hear Khabib screaming out advice to Islam

This was a no-kurtka/no-gi tournament, so almost MMA.

No gi's, head gear, shin guards, in a ring, stopped for a groin strike and long periods of time on the ground. I couldn't tell whether there was any sort've point system or not. This seemed like sort of amateur MMA fight.

Don't know what the rules were but close to MmA apparently. Wondering why zabit didn't unleash any of the strikes we've seen from him. I know he was influenced by takedowns, but why wouldnt he try to keep it standing longer.

Yeah, it's not pure combat sambo in fact.
But it seems to be kinda combat sambo with mma-like rules. Sometimes they do such tournaments. I even competed ones by myself. The gear there is mma-like but scoring system is kinda sambo like. Such a mix there.

Cool. I didn't find much info about the tournament except for it being Ingushetia and 2012, nothing else.
