Your reaction if Bernie wins Democratic Nomination and a Republican wins presidency?

Why don't you post some examples of principles that Bernie holds that are insanely far away from this of the majority of Americans. I'll wait.

The fact that he has called himself a socialist OPENLY and that he wants to make us more like Nordic countries (which are fundamentally different). He also has a lot of conspiracy theory fans who hate on big business and the 'evil' banks. These are the same people who fail to realize that banks and big business often help sustain their quality of life.

I am not against criticizing big business corruption or any of that jazz but I find it hilarious that he finds issue with the size of some companies. The size of a bank is not an issue. Furthermore, banks having to adhere to more regulations and hold more capital (as required by the Fed) alone is a step towards preventing another crisis. Simply breaking banks apart is NOT the solution its simply populist narrative.

If that were true then he wouldn't be leaving office and would be getting ready to head the United Nations. Honestly, If we get in any deeper with Israel and a one world government starts to become a possibility, I'll start going to church. Armageddon, the rapture, ending of the world, is really the only part of the bible I was always extremely interested in. Done a lot of research on it, it's compelling stuff. Still don't believe in God though, sorry Rip.

I was just joking with my post. I don't think Obama is the anti-christ.

P.S. I do hope you reconsider Jesus Christ at some point. Because none of us knows when it will be our time to go from this life to the next.

It's funny how no republicans are enthusiastic about any of their candidates.

At least Hillary and Bernie have a following and media behind them.

You've got who... Trump? OK, good luck with that.
Jeb Bush? Yeah the general public isn't going to vote for a 3rd bush. *eye roll*

Rubio, Walker, Cruz aren't winning vs Hillary.

Also the demographics (women/minorities) and the GOP's inept ability to include those demographics in their policies will be the reason why Democrats have this easy win.

I hope you are right.

We desperately need Clinton as president. She is the best proven, most experienced, best educated, best leader and in general best option. But I am worried by the HATRED that Bernie fans are directing towards fellow democrats on social media and the media criticism of Hillary over some stupid emails.

It reminds me of the media campaign against Obama all because he knew some 'socialists'.

The witch hunt against Barack Obama had me convinced that Mccain was going to be president. Thankfully Barry won!

I"m good.

The point of making this thread was to highlight the fact that Bernie Sanders fans could very well derail ANY hope of having a Democrat in office in 2017.

I think people (his fans namely) have no idea how destructive he could be. And I am finding that Bernie fans are spending more time bashing other Democrats (biden, webb, o'malley, and clinton) than they are on republicans.
You mean that in a primary a candidate mainly talks about their opponent!?! What a shock!! !

This particular primary the republicans are mainly arguing about who hates Hilary and Obama most but the infighting will begin soon enough. 2000 was a horribly vicious GOP primary.

I am noticing a kind of 'cult' mindset regarding Bernie Sanders that I see on Facebook and social media in general. The cult is under the belief that its either Bernie or nobody and that if he can't be their nominee than "f#ck everyone else".

Supporters of a candidate support their candidate. News at 11.

I just wanted to quote this again.

I take it you are a Bernie fan who thinks he can win the election nationally?

Thanks for clarifying your depth of political insight.

Smug you are.

Democrats aren't enthusiastic about their candidates, either. I think most of us liberals realize that there's going to be a big dropoff in quality after Obama.

And Hillary absolutely does not have the media behind her (seriously, WTF--I've never seen a candidate so openly hated by the major media) or much of a following. Sanders does have a small number of passionate (and obnoxious) followers.

I think Clinton wins more easily than Sanders. I think that more people would actually agree with the positions Sanders holds but that's different. Whether Sanders would win would depend in large part on who wins the GOP nomination, this will be a much different election than 2008 when the democrats could have run a turtle and won. If a seemingly temperate GOP candidate like Bush, Rubio, or Kaisch won the nomination I think both Hillary and Sanders would struggle. If someone like Cruz or Trump wins the nomination I think either Clinton or Sanders could win.

Sanders' biggest problem is the fact that he doesn't have the money or organization that Clinton does.

Smug you are.
It's earned.

It is shocking me and scaring me because its radicalism at its finest.

You are ignoring 2004

and 2000

That is wishful thinking. A guy like Bernie Sanders an open socialist will scare off a lot of moderates who voted for Obama (either 1st time or both times). Bernie is like the leftist version of a Ron Paul.

I agree but we shouldn't pretend that a Republican is incapable of winning. They did it throughout the 80's and did it in 2000, and 2004 and made come backs in the Senate in 2014.

Anyhow I am interested to hear your opinion/reaction Dochter. How will you react if Bernie Sanders becomes the Democratic Nominee and a Republican ends up becoming President?

2004 is so 10 years ago. Demographics in NC and VC are changing as more northern liberals move into those states. Same thing is happening out West with Cali liberals moving to Colorado and Nevada.

Just admit that the idea of Bernie being elected to the presidency scares you shitless, TS.

I think simpletons like yourself should donate your voting rights to illegal aliens.

lol at the ts and his "the only way a republican can win is if the dems let them or through corruptionnnnn" attitude

what I find particularly interesting Bernie sanders's critics is that they never really explain as to why they oppose him or don't like him.

90 percent of time it's the usual, "...he's a socialist!!"

and nothing more beyond that.

But what if just what if your election system was rigged and is already a farce? Isn't there some inspector general chosen by the queen of England who has supreme power?

Governor General, actually, and his position (like the Queen's role as "Head of State") are largely symbolic.
