Your reaction if Bernie wins Democratic Nomination and a Republican wins presidency?

The first time in an election since I was 18 that I've truly looked at all options on both sides as 100% tragic.

Bernie - Jesus God no
Hillary - shut up
Entire GOP field - goddamnit

"Fuck"

Followed by...

"Honey; I'm thinking about taking that offer in new zealand, whatcha think?"

If I'm well by then.

Bernie would probably annex Canada in the name of proletarian internationalism.

Righteous Comrade. But Bernie is too weak, old, and cowardly to do such a thing. We need a strong leader!

As long as the 40 million of you don't vote in Canada and turn our elections into the farce you've turned yours into, we'd welcome you with open arms!

But what if just what if your election system was rigged and is already a farce? Isn't there some inspector general chosen by the queen of England who has supreme power?

Maybe not, but they can be demotivated with enough pot

True. I actually think the number of gun owners is like 100 million. Its apparently almost 1/3. Last I read it was like 32% who own guns

I just find it funny that people think the world will explode with a Republican as president.

I mean maybe if its Trump, out of just the pure hilarity that will come out of all of his foreign policy.

But really do you think the world will be so horrible with say someone like Ben Carson as POTUS? People thought Obama was going to be some out of this world socialist and even he could barely get anything done in this government. And Obama had almost no real political experience before he was running for Pres.

Not that I'm rooting for Carson, but Jesus people, calm down.

The Republicans start with A deep deficit in the electoral votes. -84. It's going to get harder and harder to win. Some souther states like NC and VA are not solid red either.

Bernie has a better chance than Hilary. The more Hilary is on TV and in the public eye, the more she falters. 2008 proves this when she was the favorite and beat by a relatively unknown black guy.

He is the Anti-Christ though. Can't compete with that.;)

The demographics in this country alone will not allow a Republican presidency. Unless they somehow nominate a Hispanic pro-open border conservative or something. Even Rubio doesnt get the Hispanic vote.

If that were true then he wouldn't be leaving office and would be getting ready to head the United Nations. Honestly, If we get in any deeper with Israel and a one world government starts to become a possibility, I'll start going to church. Armageddon, the rapture, ending of the world, is really the only part of the bible I was always extremely interested in. Done a lot of research on it, it's compelling stuff. Still don't believe in God though, sorry Rip.

The GOP platform is:
Foreign policy--Fuck off, here's a bomb.
Domestic policy--Fuck off, you're poor and therefore irrelevant
Environmental policy--Not destroying the environment costs money, fuck off trees.

So yeah, a GOP winning would be pretty bad given that the GOP also controls the Senate and House.

Funny talking point, but an oversimplification of a lot of policy choices, and only really those of a few, not the entire field.

You are ignoring 2004

That is wishful thinking. A guy like Bernie Sanders an open socialist will scare off a lot of moderates who voted for Obama (either 1st time or both times). Bernie is like the leftist version of a Ron Paul.

I agree but we shouldn't pretend that a Republican is incapable of winning. They did it throughout the 80's and did it in 2000, and 2004 and made come backs in the Senate in 2014.

Anyhow I am interested to hear your opinion/reaction Dochter. How will you react if Bernie Sanders becomes the Democratic Nominee and a Republican ends up becoming President?

Fantastic gif.

Frankly it isn't really an oversimplification though, nor is it a narrow characterization.

The GOP foreign policy, as articulated by the entire field at the debate (with Rand occasionally mildly dissenting) was to spend far more on the military than we currently do, to dictate unilaterally to other countries, and to engage our military more actively.

The uniform GOP economic policy, as articulated by the entire debate field, was to cut taxes and drastically cutting services. That benefits the upper class and is detrimental to most everyone else. Even if we accept the Laffer Curve as real, Bush's actions make it clear we're not on the right side of the inflection point anymore.

The GOP environmental policy was not even broached at the debate because, fuck you trees.

What an idiotic question and premise for a thread. The answers are pretty obvious, hence my not responding earlier. While there are some on the stupid "they're all the same" bandwagon, the party platforms are pretty different and if you support the democratic platform you'd obviously be disappointed.

The real question is no matter who wins are we going to all benefit or just a few select few? :icon_chee Democracy is for all to enjoy not just a few who know the rules and work their business ties to increase personal revenue.

Bernie is a strange case because he is about the only candidate that you can say truly cares about the well being of the American people.

On the other hand some of his principals are so insanely far from that of the American people that it makes it difficult to vote for him.

Why don't you post some examples of principles that Bernie holds that are insanely far away from this of the majority of Americans. I'll wait.

The point of making this thread was to highlight the fact that Bernie Sanders fans could very well derail ANY hope of having a Democrat in office in 2017.

I think people (his fans namely) have no idea how destructive he could be. And I am finding that Bernie fans are spending more time bashing other Democrats (biden, webb, o'malley, and clinton) than they are on republicans. I am noticing a kind of 'cult' mindset regarding Bernie Sanders that I see on Facebook and social media in general. The cult is under the belief that its either Bernie or nobody and that if he can't be their nominee than "f#ck everyone else".

It is shocking me and scaring me because its radicalism at its finest.

It's funny how no republicans are enthusiastic about any of their candidates.

At least Hillary and Bernie have a following and media behind them.

You've got who... Trump? OK, good luck with that.
Jeb Bush? Yeah the general public isn't going to vote for a 3rd bush. *eye roll*

Rubio, Walker, Cruz aren't winning vs Hillary.

Also the demographics (women/minorities) and the GOP's inept ability to include those demographics in their policies will be the reason why Democrats have this easy win.
