Nobody really cares about protests other than the protesters themselves unless they're blocking traffic or something. They're pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things. The riots that are still occurring are the most devastating in the history of this country. We're talking billions.

It's going to matter in this election just like all he riots in the last cycle.
I'm lean toward the left, but will freely admit that the left just doesn't fucking learn with this shit. More moderate voters like myself don't fall for the whole "mostly peaceful" nonsense that the MSN keeps puking up. These "protesters" have been busting windows, spraying graffiti and blocking traffic even were I live, which is 45 minutes to down town, for months now. I literally have black family members that are slowely becoming more conservative by the day because of it. My bi-racial nephew is literally changing his major to criminal justice just so he can fuck these people up.

Let's not pretend like all this civil unrest doesn't greatly benefit the right on election day.

"Nobody cares about protests"

So the protests of the 60s didn't matter?

Biden should win, it’s his to lose at this point. Trump has a chance due to electoral college complicating things a bit, but that’s a very limited path to victory. There’s time, but right now it’ll probably be Biden with 280-310 electoral votes. He’ll pick up Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona and Pennsylvania, might lose Nevada or Oregon, while North Carolina and Florida put him at the top of the range.

Still time for Biden to blow it, but he’s near lock to get more than 50% of the vote.

I am Canadian so I only see things from a distance. But I do not for a second believe the polls or the news.
I do get the feeling that the "silent majority" is an actual thing and can see it happening.

Do you think the silent majority supports Trump though? His supporters have never been quiet about it.

You realize this is pretty much your buddies burning down cities, which you are then blaming on Donald Trump, right.

This is why nobody, especially not the Democrat party, takes progressive seriously. They use you because you’re easily emotionally manipulated, then once they’ve got your vote they cast you out like the rejects progressives are.
If people are so angry that they are burning down cities, then who's job is it to calm the situation and quell the anger of the protesters and rioters?
<TheDonald>
Trump could have stopped the riots the day of George Floyd's death by siding with the protesters and by promising that we will get real police reform and by vowing to do everything in his power to end systemic racism in our judicial system. But instead because he wanted to be the "law and order" president he decided to antagonize the protesters with the police, and with his Gestapo...er I mean federal agents. Therefore making the situation worse. Now because of him, I don't think that the riots will stop until he is out of office.
Oh? And what makes you think that it's not us who are using them? One of the reasons I am voting for Biden is because I feel like his victory would make it easier to radicalize normies and turn them to socialism. When things suck under a Republican the average American says "okay, time to vote a Democrat in". But once people realize that both parties are screwing them over they turn to a political outsider. Think about it, Bernie Sanders did far better in 2016 when he was just some nobody Senator from Vermont, and he had to deal with Super Delegates and he was up against a political dynasty in Hillary Clinton than he did in 2020 when he was an established name and he didn't have Super Delegates to deal with and he was in a much larger field. That's because when a Republican is in office, people want to return to "how things used to be" before the Republican got elected. When a Democrat is in office, then they want real political change. That's how Trump got elected in the first place, because he ran as an outsider. And that's why Bernie got as big of a following as he did. Bernie Sanders converted millions of Americans to the left in 2016 under the Obama administration, and I believe that in either 2024 or 2028 someone will rise up and take Bernie's place and convert millions more to the left.
So ironically the thing Trump and Republicans are fear-mongering about is true. A Biden win will lead to the rise of socialism in this country.

Nope
Old white dudes passed the big civil rights acts of 1965 and 1968.
It was going to happen anyways.
Same with women's suffrage.
Same with ending the Vietnam war

If anything, mass protesting prolongs shit like this because it often leads to violence, which completely dilutes the message. I would bet my last dollar that 90% of Americans don't even understand what the current protests are even about in regards to the end goal. I can basically guarantee that if I randomly called 100 people in this country almost none of them could tell me what BLM wants as far as policy changes. Most of their own members don't even know. It's just a bunch of people barking to bark with LOTS of sheep following their lead. It doesn't get squashed down because the media and education system have created enough white guilt in this country that large portions of the population, particularly the urban population, are scared to say anything because they don't want to draw attention to themselves. My wife works for the state and would NEVER say anything negative about the BLM movement despite laughing when these people get gassed or ran over by cars. There are millions of people like her in this country.

Why would anyone want 4 more years of a president that has brought our society seemingly to the brink of civil war?

I recognize that Democrats are supporting radicalization against the US right now and I also recognize that it is a ploy for anti-Trump votes. But this current admin is known chaos. We need change in leadership.

I think it's too close to call. As I've said repeatedly, I don't think polls are predictive here. I've finally fleshed out my "why".

We don't elect Presidents based on who the most popular person is. We don't elect Presidents based on the opinions of likely voters. We use electoral votes and most of the polls out there don't appear to weighing in the variations in how the electoral votes would go. Of course many do but the tv level prognosticators consistently refer to who's most popular with men vs. women, college vs. no college, POC vs. white, etc. Which I think is nice to know but not going to matter if all of one candidate's advantages are consolidated in areas that don't generate electoral votes.

Maybe I haven't seen the right polls, that's possible.

But, right now, I haven't seen enough of anything to make me feel that the election is leaning one way or the other. In 2016, I felt very confident that the Democrats did not have their finger on the strength of the support for Trump. That they were underplaying it and thus not spending enough time countering it, making his election a very strong possibility. That's not the case this time. The idea of Trump supporters and independents who don't poll, who don't speak up, about GOP leaning preferences is well known and I'd assume that any well run campaign is addressing that issue.

Plus I'm too lazy to sit down and flesh out who wins what state to get a tighter picture of where the electoral votes are going. So, to me, it's too close to call. I wouldn't be surprised in either direction.

That reminds me, are left-winger violent extremists who will resort to rioting and looting whenever we don't get our way? Or are we soy boy beta pussy bitches who don't even know how to throw a punch?
Because from what I've seen you right-wingers can't seem to decide which narrative you want to go with and you don't seem to understand that we can't be both.

What does throwing a punch have to do with hiding behind a mask and burning down your neighbors businesses?

You’re great at assaulting old people, I’ll give you that...

Before rona, I would have bet my house on Trump. Now it’s 50/50 Imo ( I like Trump more). If I had to pick one with money on the line, I would say Biden. I trust this guy, has called every election right. (starts at 3:30)

I do. But also without this "the resistance" nonsense, faith in the media was collapsing and would be at all time lows now. The media is clearly, clearly carrying Biden, while imho was pushed by the DNC. The DNC liked Harris and Butt but Harris got train wrecked by Tulsi and Butt had BLM problems. So they decided to push Biden, who suddenly stomped everyone, and everyone got in line.
I'm sorry, I don't like trump as a person. But this media anarchy that is being created with the king making of the DNC makes for some awful stuff. Just look at Biden who is basically an empty suit at best.
The media meanwhile has put right blatantly lied and is basically slandering anyone who isn't parroting them

More clear and brazen election fixing

it actually sounds pretty illegal ?

Can someone make a thread on this ? this needs it own wr discussion

It's in the bag, Biden's handlers put a lid on it today at 9:22am. He probably shit on a rug.

There is mostly conservatives on Sherdog/War room. So the poll results are not a surprise.
