Would you call it upset or Chael is a stylistic nightmare for Shogun?
one of the biggest upsets, especially the way he won
The way he won was very surprising. I thought going in he might give Shogun some problems if he could keep it on the mat, but didn't see that coming.
shogun fans were suicidal. Everyone thought chael would get ko'd subbed or just lay and prey rua if he won.
Shogun fans were in depression
Not an upset. Shogun doesnt even train by the looks of it
Shogun wins that fight 8/10 times. So yes, a fluke and an upset.
Only surprised it was by submission.
That was depressing AF, no disrespect to Chael, but I think that was more so a testament of how bad Shogun was more than anything.
It was pretty funny at the time. Wouldnt mind a rematch
Hard to say how prepared and healthy Shogun was for sure, but I think it was Chael's finest victory in his entire MMA career.
He finished a very tough fighter in under a round.
Both Rua brothers are excellent grapplers and pulling guard for a guillotine can't really be blamed on Shogun's bad knees.
Saw that fight in Boston. Such a great card to watch, but felt let down by the result.
Chael doesn't finish fights often so it was nice to see it in person... and the wand callout made me laugh.
Wrestlers have strong front head locks.
Shogun has gotten stuck in guillotines before.
I was very sad
It was a bit of an upset in that Chael pretty much never used BJJ up until that point. It wasn't something many were looking for. Smart from Chael. It's definitely something he added to his game a lot more after the 2nd Silva fight. He still seems to be into it now a lot more than his fighting days.
Not an upset, because Chael has never lost a fight. He ether wins, or takes a dive. He is the GOAT and the true American Gangster.
I picked Lord Chael to win and a submission was his only way to finish the fight. His submission game is underrated and it got even better after he started working with Vinny Magalhaes.
Good for you, Prime Shogun still eats Chael alive though.
Wouldn't call it an upset; not 100% sure I'd call it a stylistic nightmare for Shogun
It was a VERY dominant performance. Similar to getting a quick pin in a wrestling competition
