They play that first song in my gym all the time. I had no idea they were called M2M. Guess MnM must've been taken.

Some embarrassing sub-genres of EDM from many, many years ago, but sticking with more mainstream stuff...

No 'shame', just wouldn't blast it out the windows...IMHO, a solid album front to back that has been in the regular rotation:

A little shameful, in a regular playlist...

A little more shameful, an occasional indulgence...

Very, very shameful, makes rare appearances lol...

I'm not ashamed about anything I listen to but once in a new car I was trying to figure out the stereo, which was hooked up to my phone, while I was driving. The spoken intro to "Alejandro" came on and I thought it was "Tristesses de la Lune" by Celtic Frost. Maybe that counts as shameful? See for yourself.

They sound very hipster and often like car advert music. Some of their songs are just way too cringey for me. But still, the last few years Small Black have been in my top 3 most listened to bands. There are a whole bunch of their songs that I love and listen to over and over

Wow, I can definitely see that. While it's often hard to tell if something is more coincidence, or subconsciously or indirectly influenced, or directly inspired by something else...there is certainly something there.

I'm always interested to hear who influenced who, and picking up on little elements in songs or albums that seem to come from somewhere else, etc...to the point that I've found out the same producer worked with the two artists or something like that. Sometimes the links are obvious, but often it is more subtle.

I never even thought about influencing each other, I kinda just assumed it was like 1920's French love song influence on both. But actually I guess Lady Gaga might be a big enough music nerd to have heard of Celtic Frost, lol. That would be funny if true!

She does love a fair bit of metal so it could be a possiblity

no such thing in my opinion, like who you like....however hip hop and rap are still the AIDS of music <28>

Definitely…. But the lyrics do sound like they were written by a horny 13 year old :D

I first heard it in a video game for basically 13 year olds so it explains a lot. It's a dudebro track but it's fun. I've played that at work lots of times and had no complaints. That video was definitely rapey though. Never seen the vid before.
